Does anybody know someone who can sort travel to match from Albufeira? There's 9 of us so looking for a mini bus, ideally.

4 of us booked on a flight from Manchester on the Wednesday afternoon to Faro airport and returning Saturday. Not sorted any digs out yet as last 2 that my mate sent details of earlier were proper disasters!! God help us!!!

If you are flying into Faro, an option is to catch a taxi to Faro railway station, then train it to Portimao. 1hr 20 at 6 euros each way.

Nah then... having caught that train . It’s 2/3 coaches long with one bog. I needed a prolonged visit and saw lots of train tracks fly by as I looked down at my produce...

A pissed up Blades contingent whove been on the custard tarts will soon cause a derailment.

Please don’t rely on the train to get you there other than the day before.

Stay local and booze heavy.

Nearest stations Ferragudo just before Portimao, bit of a square there for a beer, walkable to ground, train back to Albufeira after a nightmare as last one is 20.23, back to Adkins days of 20 mins in the ground then in the boozer.... Short stay for us Weds night from LBA back Friday night.. see whats on offer UTB

And how is that relevant to anyone who supports England ?
It's about as relevant to this post as me saying that I've never been to Portugal, but I have been to Brazil (where they speak Portuguese), to Rio no less - awesome place! More controversially, Ingurland themselves are an irrelevance. Slightly more effective on the World stage than the UK entry at Eurovision - but not much!

Coincidentally I'll be in Carvoeiro which isn't too far away but the wife would kill me if I went.

By the time you have got a taxi from resort-train station-train station- ground it will only cost you €10 each for 4 in taxi from Albufeiria

Went to the Algarve 20+ years ago and stayed in Praia da Rocha (I remember United were at Tranmere be about '97, drew 1-1 i think), which is basically the beach bit to Portimao. From what I can recall there was a main drag on the seafront with bars and restaurants, and was about 20 minute walk into Portimao. I did have a look at the ground, couldn't get in but could see some of the inside, ok ground but a bit on the small side.

It's on the train line but from staying in Albufeira for Euro 2004 I remember being advised to avoid the trains as they were a 'mare (that was going up to Lisbon) and ended up hire car. Albufeira train station is a bit of a trek to the centre as well, but obviously that's the spot to stay for a decent night out.

Any chance of me and Mrs FUMS jumping on the bus with you? More people should reduce the cost a bit.
Im in Albufeira in June for a week, so I'll make some enquiries about mini-buses.

A couple of the bigger Transfer companies out there are Yellowfish and Bestransfers4U. Your hotel might have a contact, or there are a few ticket offices on The Strip that might be able to help.

I’m on a stag do in Albufeira from the Wed to Sat. If anyone has a spare space in minibus or taxi let me know!

Might even try and convert a few of my Norwich supporting mates.

Anyone on here staying in Portimao?

There’s 3 of us as well, could organise a coach if there’s enough interest
