Grateful for what he achieved with us and where he got us, fantastic times.

Not so grateful for the alleged touting for other jobs, then the back door stuff.

His work since has the air of a busted flush about it.

It’s a no from me

If we finish bottom 3 with this squad it’s about right, for me hecky’s future depends on how we play and so far results are a bit worse than hoped for but performances are a lot better and getting better so no blade I know is questioning his future even if we do go down. That’s not to say if performances go to shit it won’t be up for debate

Wilder did an amazing job but this would be an insane decision. He had a golden period where everything aligned but since then he has been shown to be very limited in his approach and thinking.

Hecky is not the issue and under very testing circumstances is doing a good job. The issues lie in the boardroom not the Managers office. This would stink as an appalling decision and treatment of an honest and genuine football man.

Thank you Chris for everything you did but it's a no from me.

Best football ive seen us play in 40 years under Wilder.
Fast short passing football where we were had spells home and away dominating the top 6.

Lets be honest...last season we were never convincing.
Hecky is pragmatic, quite negative, reminds me of Southgate, plays to grind out results.

Whereas under Wilder when we were 1-0 up, we'd go for 2-0, then 3-0.
So wouldn't be too disappointed if wilder returned

but think the timing would be wrong.
Altho I've not convinced by Hecky because I'm never sure what our tactics are
apart from sit back and defend in numbers.

However Hecky has done enough to deserve more time.
Also like Southgate, Hecky has no personality, so he's good with the media and doesnt cause any fuss.
Where as Wilder is a livelier, like a stick of dynamite, could go either way.
If Hecky had been like Southgate then we would not have gone up.

Last time we were here, Wilder had us 17 games and no wins, so you’re been selective with your memory there.

Absolutely stupid article from the Times.not worth the time of day.
What's more important is Egan playing for Ireland when not fit ! So HECKI has to side line him yesterday! I think Hecki will be fuming over this.Really disappointed in Egan ! he is an experienced player and should have known he was risking being fir for Spurs ! yet played anyway.Hes club captain who didn't put his bread and butter job first ,that's bloody annoying.
I think when it comes to loyalty we know where we stand with him.
Baldock on the other hand! although travelling didn't play the sensible thing to do.

I actually thought this might be our first hammering but we almost got 3 points. Also lost to a late goal to City. I appreciate à defeat is a defeat but it’s only five matches in ffs. We only have to be better over the season than 3 others

It's not bollocks and that's as much as I'm saying but let me tell you the biggest twist to the tale. It involves Billy Sharp.
So we have a manager and network who has and is moving us forward inch by inch and have a long term sustainable plan.
We are learning to cope with a premier league designed for and run by the wealthy elite with a relatively piddly budget.
Undoing any of the last 18 months work is a recipe for disaster in my opinion.
To even talk about Wilder and Sharp being involved is nonsense.Been there done that and largely,it ended badly.
Why oh why would we even contemplate trying to reinvent the past.Madness.
Where has it worked before ????.
Pathetic waste of print from folk desperate to stir the poor imaginations of a few fans who shit their nappies after a few games, and rather than take a sensible view of what the club are trying to achieve against all the odds, revert to short termism and panic.
Wilder as good as he was has burned his bridges, achieved what he was capable of and slipped off with a healthier wedge than perhaps he'd earned,
though that may be a reflection of the industry's greed.
We need to keep striding forward and forget the past and twats calling themselves journo's with little to say.
Why aren't they fighting for a better version of our game?
Yesterday's game highlighted much of what is wrong with it in terms of officious nonsense.
Given that shite as well I think we can be proud.
Oddly, despite our defensive errors we're still not shipping as many goals as more experienced and established teams.Small margins will count come next may.
Onwards and upwards Blades.Plenty to come yet👍🤩

He's clearly sat down in his living room and thought 'mmhhh what bollocks can I make up to cover off that pile of shit that is SUFC who I know nothing about apart from Chris Wilders overlapping centre halves, and will tick that box of covering them before I go back to wanking on porn net'. It's a sad old world when people get paid for writing such shit. Being a journalist used to be a tough gig and they had to put some spade work into it to get into contacts and snippets. Now any sad fucker can be one (ala the sad acts that cover SWFC in the Stir) with the internet and everyone can make any old pile of shit up and pretend it's a story. I could make one up about Fairies being real and having orgies with leprechauns in Ireland and some fucker would run with it as a story in the Mail.

Reading this thread why are some fans seemingly getting into a tizz over this story? It's all made up bollox. Nothing else. PH isn't going anywhere and has the full backing of the board. Bettis only confirmed that this week. The story is just made up horse shit.

What blame does he have to take?
I want him to stay. I do question how much the signings are his really. My biggest query is, why no decent upgrade on Lowe? The apparent naivety and surprise when Berge and Ndiaye left. Get cover in if they're staying, if they're going get replacements. I think the general apathy around the loss of two players and the alleged ' shock', are a poor ign.
That said, he's done an amazing job in his time , and I would stick with him for a few years myself.

In the context of United's make do and mend approach and general lack of longer term planning it isn't surprising the owner would be looking at the managerial situation given how much is at stake.
Hecky has done a good job in very difficult circumstances and he deserves more time but it's hard to ignore the glaring problem we have in terms of possession of the ball and carrying a threat. No team can continue playing like we are and hope to gain anywhere near enough points to be in with a chance.
Whether another manager could make any difference with the players we have is debateable and it's even more debateable whether going back to the future is the right idea but we have to find a way to basically play a bit more football.
Given the chaotic summer Hecky should have more time and will get more time but if the pattern of playing continues is it worth enduring 38 games of Groundhog Day without considering change?

That is utterly rubbish

My hopes and expectations for this season haven't shifted in the slightest.

I don't expect us to stay up
I don't expect us to be competitive i.e. in the mix to stay up, right at the end
I do expect us to compete on any given game day, and to give our all in any given match.

I expect us to use this season to find a new buyer, and to plan for being a healthier championship side next season.

Hecky is integral to that, and has to stay.

Wilder created a very uncompetitive side on limited resources in our second season.

The Chris wilder & Knill we had is and was levels above hecky and mcall you just can’t debate that

If you asked me would I rather have a wilder who is at it than hecky then it would be wilder every day and twice on a Sunday

Good owners/managers make decisions before the shit hits the fan and they act fast

I think if the prince is even slightly contentplaiting wilder he should get it done and he should get it done fast

I like hecky but he is not as good as wilder and you can’t make a logical argument to say he is
Richard Head. And you think the team would play for Wilder, has been and the problem is not the manager. Go down this team will come straight back stronger after a few like Fleck and Lowe are replaced.

Didn't say he was the alternative but do think it's unlikely the owner will go through a similar experience as Wilder's second season in the Prem.
Also think that fans' attitudes will change if we're 1 point from 10 games.

It just felt like for a moment that Chris forgot that he was managing Sheffield United. You know, 'never got a pot to piss in' Sheffield United. He seemed to mistake us for some uber-resourced push the boat out Prem club. And he seemed to lose himself a bit. He wasn't Chris Wilder, formerly of Halifax and Northampton managing through financial hardship, he was Premier League Manager Chris and he deserved Premier League budgets.

He must look back and realise how daft he was. He could have had a job for life almost, with his boyhood club, but just couldn't hang in there, when his job was under no threat at all.

Bet he regrets not just digging in, taking the hits and being the one to bounce back.
Wh
o exactly is this Baltic blade champs ? Some of the things he comes out with are utterly ridiculous.
He can't even be a pig as any looking on this sight would be in stitches at his comments.
Does he do it to annoy people as he gets on my wick.
