23 y.o. Shown great promise putting away 14 in 34 between the ages of 18-20 in Ligue 2, good potential i guess... Looks like Bournemouth took a punt and it's not quite come off for him so far. What worries me is how quick this transfer appears to have gone through and £10m seems a lot... £7m maybe... but to say we've allegedly baulked over £5m more for Maupay/McB... I'd rather have 1 class player than a few decent punts among the squad. Here's hoping we get McB now!!!!
But we haven't, we offered 5m more for them.

3 goals in 53 games for Bournemouth is difficult to ignore.

Bournemouth Echo ses otherwise -

Mousset has notched five goals in his time on the south coast, most recently in the 5-1 loss at Arsenal in February, his only Premier League start of 2018-19.

How can you say that about Maupay but say you would've preferred McBurnie?
McBurnie has only done it for one full season as well.

well mcburnie did have a good spell at barnsley before Swansea though, so we managed to keep his spell going

A talented boy of that there's is no doubt.....but is he really what we need up with a very poor goal scoring record ..3 in 50 odds games and a pernenial sub ...if we have a proper centre forward lined up ..then I can see this punt ..but only if we have ...

An hour ago we are being touted as being interested in a player and for 10 million, an hour or so later and it's nailed on on this forum that it's happening and fir ten million! At times like these I'd love to know what Wilder is thinking when he's viewing this forum, lets wait and see before spitting our tea out, especially when wilder is thinking fuckin ell we've bid 12.

Maupay scored 12 the season before, his transition season in English football. One season wonder is far from true, if you're saying it about Maupay you have to say it about McBurnie also.

If I were to guess I’d say Maupay off to Bournemouth so chris has got straight on the blower for Moussett at a relative knock down price (fail to see it being as much as £10m, nearer £7m. Fees are always inflated in the press). We’ll push ahead for McBurnie for about £16m.

Anyone know if all the Brooks instalments have been paid?

It's at least great to see that we're not neglecting pace, skill and flair.

It's exactly what we were lacking for PL level and Wilder's been true to his word bringing these types in.
A Mathieu Manset for 2019. Wouldn't you agree? :D

Click on the avatar of the person who has just posted something like "losing to Burton just shows how far behind we are. Should've done our business earlier. Villa would've hammered them. I fear for us next season" and then press the Ignore button.

It's a brilliant, and very necessary, feature.
Imagine you are giving me recommendations for holiday reading.... any recommendations?

On another note, regarding certain career moves this week, do you think that the club heirarchy think our academy players arent drinking enough? :)

Lets be frank none of us are Mousett experts. Looking at his goalscoring record is ridiculous given how skewed it is to late game substitute appearances, if you gave salah or aguero 10 mins at the end of games for Bournemouth youd see their ratio drastically reduced aswell.

can we not just accept that Wilder has clearly done his homework and based on his track record agree that hes a better judge than us. Hes not going to piss 10 million away without feeling comfortable. He might end up being another Nade or he could end up being as inspired as Didsy. Lets give the lad a chance welcome him in & support him and the boys and see what kid of player he ends up for us.

In Wilder we Trust.

That’s what I’m saying. Why on earth would we pay £3m more than they paid

Because it's a sellers market, and sadly certain players values don't drop.

Look at Tyrone Mings, Bournemouth paid £8m for him, played 17 games for them in 4 seasons, then sold him for £25m.

Never try to apply logic to football, the games gone...

Yeah fair enough. Just seems like a way better deal for AFCB than us, which is not what usually happens when wilder does his business.

10 Million?!

And people were moaning about the supposed Charlie Austin interest.

Mousset has 55 appearances in the PL with 3 goals to his name.

his total minutes in the premier league add up to 13 games, so technically a goal every 4.33 games, stats don't always tell the whole truth

I really hope we're not blowing £10 million on this kid that is a big chunk of our budget on someone with a not so great strike rate.

Small point but a very important one ,it doesn't count for a shiny shit what a player has done previously ,for who or why. Its what they are going to do for us that matters and only 2 or 3 people know how we are going to play ,so it doesn't matter Bob le blanc or Franck Crackingtackle had scored 100s or kept clean sheets for fun ,if they don't suit our style there is no point in them coming here.

Yeah but that's only because he's 6 ft and they needed someone similar to Connor Sammon as opposed to Maupay who's 5 ft 7 and similar to Messi.

Imagine needing someone similar to Connor Sammon.....................

20 odd goals last season McBurnie - priced out.

3 goals in 57 games Mousset....sure.

How many goals would Mousset have scored in the championship though ?

He has always looked very good whenever I’ve seen him for ballmouth

Hopefully it Mousset and mcburnie

The initial £11.5m fee has as it was effectively factored: we took out a loan against the future payments. The contingent payments won't have been; at a guess there are payments due on a certain number of PL appearances and goals which Brooks has yet to meet.

he has played 1,191 premier league minutes in total, scoring 3 goals, and that all in 15 and 20 mins here and there, that would equate to 9 or 10 in a season

plus playing more regurlarly here he may find consistency, I've learnt to trust in what CW and AK think is right for us
