Throwing objects

Im not sure the no away fans in glasgow was police related, thought it was more clubs couldnt agree on allocations?? Might have got that wrong. And yes it does seem that the pigs are due a big punishment for a long list of issues. Thing for me is what can clubs realistically do to stop idiots doign what they do. THey'll ban them but there's always another one in their place. Security checks can only go so far, if someone's stuff a banger down their kecks they're never going to find it. You cant legislate for someone launching coins etc at players.

I guess the sunderland approach of no coins could be applied across the country where there's been issues. Similarly, get rid of plastic bottles and have plastic / paper cups for drinks - whenever someone celebrates at the kop at the lane 2/3 bottles get launched at them (Leeds keeper the other week had some!). Ban vaping devices is another. Its sadly always a draconian approach thats needed to try to prevent the minority instead of the vast majority who would never think of throwing an object at a person doing their job (which is what players are at the end of the day!) I saw the pig who launched a can at the tram stop getting nicked straight away and i just thought what an absolute waste of time for everyone...he's thrown and blades and pigs, got nicked, will get a ban of some type, criminal record all for what, because you dont like some people being supporters of the other team! soft chuff

It’s an accusation that needs to be backed up and that may be happening elsewhere. If it were my accusation, I’d be taking my evidence the club/police, not posting it on social media and seeking justice that way. I’m in the sceptical camp.

Aye
Certainly wasn’t @ the behest of the polis Frankenrangers cited (opaque) “safety reasons” & Smeltic ‘reciprocated’- in essence the ‘usual’ parochial (sectarian) tosh by both sets of fans & clubs

Some of it is preplanned, obviously anyone taking a firework is only taking it for one reason, others can’t control themselves from being a dick after a few sniffs of the barmaids apron or these days a few sniffs of the Marching powder.

See this chap may well have been acting the cunt, even spitting who knows… but, I’m not too sure the whole truth is being told and porkys have not been added. A GLASS beer bottle? Where has he got that from? He’s not bought it in the ground that’s for sure. So we have to assume he’s smuggled it in, evaded the patting down/search going into the ground. Then at some point went to the front of the stand got out the glass bottle that was previously well hid, and just flung it? Nah sorry doesn’t sound right to me.

Pretty sure this is the same guy I saw after the game walking up the hill. He got right in the face of a Wednesdayite kid holding his dad's hand and called him a Piggy something or other. Me and another Blade called him out over this and said give it a rest he's only a kid and he replied something along the lines of 'He's still an fxxxxxx pig though'. I told him to go do it to someone his own age and see what happens and he scampered off.

I suppose we can't actually see him spitting either, but if there is evidence of it I'd believe the rest and send him down for it, why be fair about it to someone as vile as that?

I don't think it was a glass one, but one of the plastic Carling ones you see everyone drinking could be very likely. Sounds like he's been reported to the police who took a statement at the time and already been found.

I read on porktalk he was chinned after the game so could well be the same person. A few eggs short of a cake by sounds of it

Edit - see post below

Right got you, fuck him them, could have done serious damage to the kid.

I'm not sure a responsible adult would take 4 children and sit on the lower tier below the opposition fans - especially in a local Derby match. I also think if I was in that situation I'd be seeing to the child rather than taking photos. I'm moving to the sceptical but having said that, the United fan shouldn't have been in that position in the first place.

There are a lot of fans on both sides of the city who need to take a long, hard look at themselves and how they behave at the match. Middle aged men arriving early and staying very late after the match just to hurl abuse at a visiting manager is a great example. Imagine the thought process behind that, building time for it into your matchday preparation!
But I sit near people on the Kop, some with their little kids in tow, who are so incensed by the most innocuous events on the pitch, who keep up a tirade of non-stop foul-mouthed abuse at the ref and both sets of players and managers. Too high up to be heard, and thankfully, too high up to throw anything.
Just have a bit of perspective!

Really? Your response is to blame the kids for sitting there?

Surely throwing a firework at another person(s) (football players in this instance) is a serious criminal offence?

Lifetime ban and prosecution for the moron who threw it and punishment for the 'Classy Club' should be imposed.

ANYONE caught spitting at others or throwing objects needs to be punished in some way as well.
It is. "Throwing a firework with the intent to cause alarm or injury can lead to charges under the Public Order Act 1986, potentially resulting in up to 3 years imprisonment, an unlimited fine, or both"

This one deserves an immediate ban and court date.

The difference is one side has its share of undesirables. We all do. The other side has an untold amount of them. The odd one will always do something as they see all the others getting away with it. This is why something needs doing to the Wednesday lot immediately.

The other difference can be seen by the posts in this thread compared to the posts on their comparable thread. You've got some sensible ones calling it out, but just as many defending it. I don't think I've seen a single post defending the stuff thats been reported about our fans chucking stuff and the guy who had his photo shared. For them, they have a significant number of fans who think it's fine.

There must be at least a dozen fans (including some Blades) who were chucking things during the course of the game. Plenty came from the Kop and North Stand after the goal. I hate to imagine the consequences if the firework had exploded in the face of a player, or a coin hit one in the eye.

This is serious stuff, but I unfortunately don`t have confidence that SWFC and SYP will identify these individuals and take the necessary actions.

I hope I am proved wrong.

Well that tramp on X has still not had a knock on the door for asking for the address and threatening violence on our manager. Easiest arrest and conviction going but as of yet they haven’t pulled their finger out with what is a penalty kick for them. So don’t hold your breath.

They quickly banned those identified recently accused of vile actions. If they are identifiable, why think that course of action would change? That’s the thinking running through the bitter threads all over Porktalk.

I recognise his face. Seen him at loads of away games over the years and never seemed like the sort to cause any trouble. But you never know in these situations!

I suspect that a large number of regular away goers know who is pictured, as would the football club, I’m not posting his name, as due process should be followed given it’s a social media post/reaction.

If there’s been any wrongdoing, he deserves a proportionate action.

My derby day was one of the most sedate I’ve experienced, but then, me and my companion for the day deliberately structured our actions so as to try to avoid idiots.

I don’t know if it’s just an age thing, but there does seem to be a higher proportion of folk about who don’t realise how embarrassing they look and sound.

As far as i can tell, the stadia where fans are separated by a couple of rows of seats & stewards are all far more modern that either the rust bucket or Bramall Lane.

I suspect it isn`t about the seating arrangements in the ground, but rather whether there is sufficient space and segregation under the stands and outside the ground.

If SAG do decide not to allow fans on both tiers at Hillsboro in future, I suspect we would be given the lower stand only given they will want to continue their tit for tat 2.4k tickets approach.

Quite why they don`t have netting like we do on the BL stand is beyond me - it feels like that would at least solve some of the issues.

Any suggestion of banning away supporters is far out of line - this isn't bloody Glasgow - it shouldn`t be hard to police.
The netting has gone this season from the BL upper
