Lundstram

I got slaughtered for criticising him last season and had to hold my hands up after 5 games and say he was doing alright, but at no point did I ever think it’d continue with him. He’s been poor for 10 months now and this isn’t scapegoating - it’s a fact. For me if you don’t want to sign (and I hope he doesn’t) then fuck him off. I watch him and for some reason he seems to think he’s Billy big bollocks and above us??? He’d be lucky to get a championship club the way he’s playing and played for most of his career barring 3 months last year

He's gone back to how he was in the Championship. Does something great, does something League Two, bobs around, fouls someone, repeat.

He was consistent for 20 games or so, but hasn't got anywhere near since.

Osborn, Norwood, Berge for me.

I'd rather we sell him for £2 million to anyone who wants him and go and get Besic from Everton. Surely he wouldn't be more than £4m?

He will be great when he stops playing with those ankle weights on that his mam got him for xmas

Drop him, drop him off the moving bus on the way home. Get rid of the prick

I actually thought he wasn't too bad yesterday on the whole. The only player outside of the strikers who made an effort to get into the box on counter attacks.

However... Watching the highlights for the first goal and whilst its clear that Stevens and Osborne lose their man, you just cannot switch off like this when the ball is in our penalty area. He stops running a few moments before this but I've screen grabbed at this point to show him in full statue mode.

Basham, marking the number 14 almost gets back to intercept the header so if Lundstram plays to the whistle then he has every chance of getting there and stopping the goal. I actually think Baldocks positioning is quite good as he stops the drilled cross from there and doesn't know how many people are running in behind him.

My missus doesn't really watch much football, but she kept asking who the player was who kept passing the ball backwards. "It's Lundstrum" I answered. Although to be fair he did play one lovely cross-field ball. I reckon he also gave it away 2 or three times when in a good position. I'm sure he's trying his best but it's not quite working.

Who is Lunny waving to? his agent?

i am astounded he still won't sign that contract... does he really think he will have suitors queuing for his services playing how he has done... i'm gonna make a prediction that in 3 seasons time he will be League One or in some remote league like Belgian or Dutch, playing under some has-been english manager like madkins

While Lunny was always going to be a bit of a scapegoat (contract situation, previously been a bit of a whipping boy) he has looked badly out of form this season and should be one of a few dropped for the next run of games.

If being truthful my big gripe with Lunny this season is his inability to pass properly to a fellow team mate, it either comes at them like shot from a cannon or straight to opposition.

It's not just Lunny, though. IMO the standard of our passing overall last season wasn't great on the whole either. We got away with it because of our confidence, commitment, and momentum. It was our one noticeable weakness. This season it's exacerbated and amplified because of our lower confidence and form levels.

To give an example yesterday, when Berge did well to hold possession in the middle of the park in the first half. He had Baldock, 15 yards away on his outside right, and passed the ball 5 yards in front of him and straight out for a throw!

We seem to have lost the cohesion along with our dwindling confidence. Just too many elementary mistakes.

UTB

Fred well said our midfield was non existent yesterday and yes we are making too many silly mistakes, what I don't understand tho is the pace from our game has evaporated totally.

Shocking defending, socially distanced number 7's.

What baffling about this situation is he's not good enough to be here, he seemingly doesn't want to be he, a lot of fans don't want him here, yet he still is here, he still plays and we haven't signed a replacement.

Wilder normally is pretty clear cut with contract 'rebels' (i.e Duffy), and if players don't want to be here then they know where the door is! Yet for some reason hes not out on his arse.

If he intends on running his contact down, theres no longer term value of him being in the side.

He's living off a purple patch and a Fantasy Football nickname. I think you could pick a midfielder over half of the championship sides and I'd prefer them in our team.

Or he's willing to give his all for the shirt, which he does try to do. And wants to move on after his contract runs out? Can't see the problem to be fair. I enjoy my job, but would move on for more money providing its the right move for me. Or I'll stay in my current job and get a "decent" wage.

I don’t think he’s played any worse, or looked any more out of sorts compared to earlier form last season, than Stevens or Fleck, both of whom signed new deals. I’m not really sure why people think it’s connected to the contract situation when Wilder’s said he’s fine with it, and other players with no contract issues have had similar issues with form.

Not disputing other have had a loss of form.

Tbf With Lundstram the contract is the smaller issue, but the bigger being fundamentally the bloke is a rancidly average footballer. He doesn't get near the starting line up of any other team in this league.

That's what is causing the drop in form, nothing else.

Tbh I'll be gutted if he signs a new deal as we need to be aiming for someone so much better.

Wrong, but hey we all have an opinion, but yours is at best misguided

I thought Baldock's position is shite he was the defender playing the Arsenal attack onside, if he holds the same line as the centre back they are offside. Then again look at our defence it is all over the place.

Why is Wilder still picking him over Norwood? Surely the first 4 games have told him he's wrong.
