Freeman for £3m is an absolute no brainer. He's versatile, creative and cheap.

He's not a world beater but that's amazing value. There should be no dissenters on this one

Either it's been misreported, rumour, or the initial bid was £4million over X years and a new bid of £3million up front + whatever 'add-ons' is enough to tempt QPR & help plug their parachute payment sized hole this year.

I put him at a very similar style and level to Mark Duffy (and I mean that as a complement to Feeeman), virtually a like for like replacement.
Saw him playing at the Lane for Stevenage in the play-offs and he stood out as being really talented with great close control.

The key point is that Freeman is younger than Duffy.
I’d say 4 million is a good price (3 mill is a steel) but I wouldn’t pay the 6 to 8 millions that he’s been quoted at in the past.

Agree, we should have signed him years ago from Stevenage.
Always stood out against us.

I'll give them this much, when Sky start talking about accepted offers they're not often wrong. So I'm hopeful here.
 
If true, this is a quality signing first up. I've wanted us to sign him for a long time. A standout player in the Championship, good age and attitude and much needed competition for the "Duffy role". And at £3 million it's an absolute snip, which will hopefully convince even the doubters that it's not a bad signing at all.

I don't think Dack was ever realistic Frieth, whereas Freeman is. Joe Lolley is perhaps the other most realistic option but he'd be more like £8m I would guess. Forest have more money than QPR and don't need to sell.
 
I think Sky wrote a deal worth more than £3m

That could be close to £4m I suppose

Anyhow, if correct, it would be a good deal

Great signing and great price. Just yeah ! A player who maybe capable of stepping up, but if not it’s a player who can help get us back up or alternatively one who could be sold on for the same or more than we paid.

Must be in the last year of his contract ? The U-Turn from QPR could well be player power as well.
 
Had a thought that maybe the release clause can only be activated by clubs in a higher division (so qpr convince him to stay but won't stand in his way if a premiership move materialises)

This could explain the refused £5m only to sell him to us for less later down the line. Although I do rate him as a player I've never seen him linked with the prem before us, so assuming the bid was from a rival championship club.

You’d hope we would have used the near month we’ve been promoted to progress some of these deals to try and beat the play off sides to the punch on transfers..... Imo we should be looking to strike whilst the iron is hot after all villa have only had 2 days of knowing they were playing to...
