I've done a bit of Roygbiv research and QPR fans are claiming he has quite a low release clause in his contract. Hence why we're getting him so cheap

I hope it's true. For news to circulate that QPR rejected a £4million bid and accepted a circa £3million bid in the same day would be hilarious.
Just general over-reaction as per. QPR 'we want £4M', Blades 'nope, we'll give £3M and another £1.5M if we stay up'. QPR 'OK'. Done deal undisclosed.

If it's anything like £3m that screams release clause.

Good old agents, eh?!

I also suggest they never rejected £5m for him, or any amount higher than the release clause.

It rather depends whether you want our club to stay up or give your favourite players a sentimental swan-song. We need better than Sharp and Duffy for the Premier League I’m afraid. If they start more than a dozen games each I fear for our prospects.

Maybe give them coaching jobs? After all, the main purpose of such employment is to give old favourites a job for life, regardless of aptitude. Give the Everton player one as well. In fact, bring back Owd Muckanettles Nowt-Fancy. He was great.

If Billy Sharp is reading this forum and as a fan as well as player there is a chance he might, then please be assured that this poster speaks for himself and not a single other Blades fan.

I bet we went for Freeman instead of Dack because it's cheap option 🤣
I heard that Bettis overheard someone saying he was a 'free man' when he was down in London for the case, needless to say no-one carried out due diligence and now he's signing for millions, once again we've had our pants pulled down, shambles........

Who's to say it's not Bettis who has done the negotiating, wilder will be involved obviously but who is the one doing the haggling/negotiating on a one to one with whoever at QPR? If so, well done Bettis.

A player I have always liked. Is he good enough, who knows, but I'm glad we have bought him.

Imagine had Leeds bought him, or some other Championship team, for £3m. Id have been gutted.

IF we do complete the deal I cant wait to see how he kicks on under CW and in the Premier League. Perfect fit for me.

'WeLl ThAts ShEffIelD UnITEd RelEgAteD' - PL fans on twitter who couldn't pick out Manchester/Liverpool etc. on a map of the UK.

Great bit of business. What these kids don't know is that we have a manager who changes the progression of a player by at least 45 degrees.

Our Chris negotiates hard, just keeps lowering the price until they cave;

Chris: £4 million

QPR: No chance haha

Chris: £3.75 million

QPR: wait, what?

Chris: £3.5 million

QPR: You're supposed to go up with your bids!

Chris: £3.25 million

QPR; (looking visibly panicked) hang on, did you say £4 million earlier??

Chris: £3 million

QPR: Somebody say deal before he gets to £2 million!
😆

Is he even Premier League quality

Not yet but could be given the chance.
I put him at a very similar style and level to Mark Duffy (and I mean that as a complement to Feeeman), virtually a like for like replacement.
Saw him playing at the Lane for Stevenage in the play-offs and he stood out as being really talented with great close control.

The key point is that Freeman is younger than Duffy.
I’d say 4 million is a good price (3 mill is a steel) but I wouldn’t pay the 6 to 8 millions that he’s been quoted at in the past.
