Whilst in theory the having the club buying the assets back makes alot of sense and I'm all for it.

It would appear too that we needed to sell Berge as well. If we had sold him then we may have seen fees spent.

I'm no big supporter of the prince but financially it's obviously less risky.

However any advantages gained from being in the prem to mount a promotion push rely mostly on our existing squad and perhaps this is made all the more clearer.

It's a gamble and makes the job possibly harder for SJ. But does mean if we fail to be promoted we hopefully aren't screwed.

I really hope these loans give the place a lift and raise the squad. I do still think that our existing players have it in them to be much better. (Berge, Fleck, strikers etc) Just feel confidence is low. Think had we started with a win Vs Brum we could have seen better performances after.

Suspect a few will be offloaded on the cheap in Jan if they don't step up. Better to sell at a loss than to keep paying their wages and throwing good money after bad

Question is who's going to 'buy' these players even on the cheap, and who's going to match their bloated championship wages?

Possibly with the odd exception and Even with relegation clauses the other likes of Fleck, Norwood, Stevens, Bash, McG, Sharp, Robinson, Burke, Lowe, Mousset, JOC (unfortunately) are all on more money than there ability over the last 18 months deserves. Mostly north of 30, with more or less £0 market value.

Genuinely dont think we'd get any transfer fee for any of those players. The only way these players will be off the books is free transfers (possibly with subsidised wages) or contract expiry.

It will be summer 2023 before we see the back of some of these. Hopefully we can clear some out next summer, which frees up wages and squad places for better players.

Why do you think there are so many low end Audi's and BMW's on the road? Because everybody wants the badge but nobody can afford to buy them, so they get them on finance. It's how the world works. Unless you own Man City, then money is absolutely no object.

Yes we are not in the prem however we have just had 2 years TV Money and will be receiving parachute payments

Im not saying go and spend £20 Million we could easily have spent 5/10 Million but the prince would rather loan as he isn't burdened long term whether thats because hes been savvy or hes spent all the money buying beerschot and mccabe out who knows

We will eventually have to buy players otherwise we will be back to been a low end champ team

Not unusual to borrow against future earnings for cash flow reasons. Dare say the vast majority of clubs in the PL (and those on parachute payments) do the same against TV money.

It is more unusual when you’ve had close to £300m in and your securing funds against future payments.
