Loves a loan does old princey

Loans for players , loans for the stadium , Loans to buy McCabe out

Does he pay for owt his self

Not too bad .. off load some of the shite & maybe add in January..watch this space .. on the plus side we’ve managed to fend off the enquiries for Burke so that’s 25 goals in the bag 👍⚔️

Is it ? What happens if we finish 7th lose our best players if they are davies/Olsen/MGW

Then we’re in the same situation we are now poor showing IMO

If we finish 7th it'll mean that the players we actually own will have performed quite well and probably accrued some value again, so we can get rid and do a proper ground up rebuild, with a hopefully improved recruitment team being put in place this season at Slav's insistence.

How are we going to offload the shite and who would want them? No one is going to buy them and if we loan them out we'll still have to subsidise some of their wages.

We're stuck with them until their contracts expire, or if we can convince them to terminate mutually next summer. Our squad is a mess.

If you’d wasted 17 mill on mcburnie and 20+ on Brewster - you’d probably fancy a try before you buy next time wouldn’t you?
^^^^
Can’t like this twice unfortunately. Heard good things about all of the loanees. Hopefully loans as their parent clubs aren’t keen on letting them go. Imagine being a Middlesbrough fan and finding that you’ve taken Forrest Burke on loan

Not surprised after spending £100m+ on players that haven't performed.
That's a fair point but if we don't go up we'll not likely sign any of the loans bar Hourihane, maybe Davies. I would have liked to see us sign at least one permanent player.

Probably not, but I'm hoping that Slav forces some change and by the time it comes round to replacing the loans we'll be a lot better at finding players and getting them over the line.

Any clever owner will use the loan system to the full.

Its a way for relegated PL clubs to take full advantage of/ cheat the system because they can afford to bring in yet more PL standard players.
The down side is it’s short termism but it massively increases the chances of instant promotion.

We’ll have to significantly cut out costs it we don’t get up this year. We have a young development squad which isn’t in all likelihood ready for a Championship promotion season this year and an ageing expensive current squad. You also have to admit that we don’t have the money to sign the likes of Gibbs-White and most of them, certainly Olsen and GW wouldn’t have come on a perm.
It was always the sensible, obvious and practical approach to this season so expecting big transfer fees and new contracts was always hugely unrealistic.

Saw something yesterday that said only £35m had been spent in entire football league compared to £180m 2 years ago.

No ones got any money

Yes that's because Covid has fucked the lower leagues everyone apart from US, Fulham & WBA who all get parachute payments

Which is why its such a missed opportunity to make the gap bigger and bounce back

You're either ignoring the fact that we'll make a pretty significant loss on this season (even with the parachute money) or you're on the wind up. Read the post that Balham Blade made or some of the fag packet costings I've done when people have moaned about us not spunking money.

We have more income than others in the Championship, but we also have more costs. We've spent badly whilst in the PL and it's now biting us on the arse as a relegated club. When you wrap your head around this then it's easier to understand why the Prince isn't throwing good money after bad and taking a more prudent approach for the remainder of the season.

Loans allow us to cut our cloth appropriately at the end of the season. The three scenarios are stay, drop & go up.

In at least two of those scenarios, we don’t want to be saddled with players that we can’t get rid of again.

No we are not.
Our youngsters will have another year’s experience and growth, we will have had another two transfer windows and Slav will have worked with the team for a year

Loans were always going to be the practical way this season.

Makes me laugh how some who criticised the owner for not backing Wilder in January, are still moaning about not forking out again now in the Champ.

What do you think these so far underperforming/passed it players earn every month?

We were probably one good attacking wide player away from an excellent window.

So if all else fails play the young uns fantastic plan
