This one is on. He is desperate to come as he wants to move back to England. Wouldn’t rule out a permanent either and we end up giving him a couple of years but loan is looking most likely but we will see. Anderlecht are reluctant to lose him but once the player decides he wants to go not a lot you can really do (as we know). He’s out of contract at end of the season anyway.

Didn't realise he was their 1st choice Goalkeeper. Played 13 of 20 league games so far.

I wouldn't be against this as he's a regular starter for his team so he must be doing something right.

I saw an interview about that shoot out. The decision not to dive early and try to anticipate was tactical. It was hoped that given the pressure of the ocasion there would be a desire not to miss the target completely and that the shots might therefore not go right in the corner. Unfortunately the ice veined Teutonic bastards hit the side netting every time, and the ageing Shilton wasn't fast enough.

Blade for Sale Interesting - thanks for that. When you look at some of the other shoot outs (of which there were many!) you can understand why they might make that decision. It is like watching in slow motion as Shilton dives though!

I don't think Shilts was on the worlds best diet.

For those two examples, you can cancel them out with Edwin Van der SAR and Gianluigi Buffon

The most frustrating thing was the presence of Dave Beasant on the bench who was a proper unit with a decent penalty record (saving as he did v Aldridge in Wimbledon's FA Cup win v Liverpool). A tactical sub at the end of ET and who knows?

Yeah. He “dived”the correct way (rather stepped or stumbled more accurately) every time when he knew which side the ball had passed him. He was way past it. There were better keepers available.

Wasn’t he Cloughie’s first signing at Forest before they went on to win the league and 2 European Cups ? Would be interesting to see how many penalties Shilton actually saved in his time at Forest.
