Crikey he looks like a teenage kid in that photo - I never noticed that much difference between him & Souttar on the pitch !
Makes our search for a physically dominant CB even more crucialStreak of piss too - too many PL strikers just brushed him aside last year.
Think this could be the planCould be a move to allow Gilchrist to play centre back, which is his natural position.
So if this fella is correct, club to club negotiations haven't started yet
I feckin hope notCould be a move to allow Gilchrist to play centre back, which is his natural position.

Don't get me wrong, i hope it's not but think it could be.It better not be
I've had a bit of a slating at times for giving my views on Gilchrist.
I didn't watch yesterday's game, but noted several comments to the effect of "Gilchrist gave his man way too much room... We moved Hamer to the right to give Gilchrist's side more protection etc.."
Given his attacking output is negligible, at best, I haven't seen a good reason to give him any minutes where Serki (our own young talent) is available.
This signing might suggest that Wilder doesn't have full confidence at RB either.
I don't mind the idea of Gilchrist staying around, he'll get plenty of minutes covering / rotating in the backline, but we shouldn't consider him as our No.1 CB partner for Anel. He isn't physically commanding enough and lacks experience.
2025 to 2028 is not 4.5 years.27 and a 4.5 yr deal? Nah
Doesn’t make a great deal of sense to me that one
2025 to 2028 is not 4.5 years.
But isn't the reason Chelsea want him here is to develop him on the right? If we aren't going to play him there, will they want him to stay?Could be a move to allow Gilchrist to play centre back, which is his natural position.
The other links did say 4.5 years to be fair but the German journalist does seem to be quite reliable so possibly the original one got it wrong. Doubt we'd give anyone over 3.5 year contract.Missed that cheers. So 3.5 yrs which is more realistic

Fucking Sheffield![]()
High praise indeedHe's played most of his career in either the PL or Bundesliga 1 so he's obviously a decent player. Sounds a bit Baldockesque to me if I can date compare him to George. Aggressive and determined and pitches in with a few assists too. I think he'll become first choice RB in a few weeks if he signs and should add more quality down that side.
think thats exactly what were doing jjk and seriki for rb gilchrist an option for cb wouldnt suprise me if we either went to a back 3 or play anel left side in a 4 with gilchrist at rcbCould be a move to allow Gilchrist to play centre back, which is his natural position.
Don’t mind Gilchrist as a defensive FB
Issue of course is as an attacking FB he doesn’t yet offer enough hence Seriki
My other issue is I don’t believe Alfie is a readymade CB. Not commanding enough in the air for me
