I suspect Gilchrist will be moved inside (assuming it's too late for him to be recalled by Chelsea). I can't recall which match it was but one of his best performances for me was when he went inside to his natural position in the second half (possibly Sunderland at home to cover for Souttar's sending off).

Agreed , he is more of a CB than a RB , but unfortunately at 6'0" he's a tad shorter than Souttar 6'7" & Anel 6'5" ,
and not old enough to be the leader like Souttar was.
So decent cover but not a starter at CB.

We need as close to a Souttar replica as is available.

Usually a 7.30pm flight to Berlin on a Saturday night from Manny. If he left just before FT (4.30pm-ish) he’d make that in good time.

We know BBD was there, I wonder if some people just assumed JJK was there as well, as the news about us being close to signing him broke not long after the game.

Maybe Cannon and/or Choudhury (of they haven't signed by Tuesday night) will be at Swansea game, or maybe JJK will be there as well.

Personally, I think we made a bit of a show with BBD by making it known that he would be there yesterday, apparently CW pointed him out in the stands just before kickoff?

Agreed re Anel but he must be 6'3" so wins a lot in the air. You just can't be average height and slim build and be a centre back nowadays at the top level. Strikers just rag you about. Look at the physique on our forwards like Moore, Campbell and One. I suspect he's in the weights room a lot and will fillout as he gets older but if he doesn't I think rugjt back is his position.

Anel is 6'5"

He’s been steady, done nothing wrong but wouldn’t catch the eye if your were not watching him in particular.

Really like the left winger for Hertha, wiki says he’s a forward but he’s definitely a left winger, scored a great goal and could easily play at a higher level. Derry Scherhant is his name.

Funny thing is whoever comes in aren't gonna find it easy to get in the team. Two very impressive performances against top half teams who aren't easy to beat

I guess BBD replaces McAllum and Cannon would be in ahead of Brewster. However it would be harsh to drop either Peck or Davies and we've got Souza back soon too so Choudary would initially be on the bench.

Strength in depth would improve massively and if we get the 5 rumoured players (in particular Keane) i think we go up automatically.

The smug ITK grin that came across my face when you mentioned a player I'd signed on Football Manager! He is kind of a BBD. An inside forward who cuts in from the left, but can also play as a central striker.

Wilder touched on this a couple of weeks ago. I wouldn't be good for morale to just drop players like Peck, Davies etc. But we need to rest some for a match or 2 and also make better subs than One for Moore or, like yesterday, having to put Burrows in midfield for 15 mins as the only other option was to bring Blacker on.
More suspensions will soon kick in too and not sure if Davies will be fit for Swansea or Hull? Souza could be back but he isn't going to be 100% match fit for 90 mins.
We remain so light.
Hopefully we have just enough to get us through the next 2 games.

Apologies but the 5 we have apart from anel (who's always got a red card in him ) it's not good enough especially as the shirecliffe sniper is slowly taking out all out CDM,s
I played centre half and it always helped if you had good help from a gobby keeper and a twat of a cdm

I don't think AA is quite as tall as that - probably about 6'3.
