I can’t believe I’m having to explain it actually. I was quite clearly saying how ludicrous it is to suggest he’s the MOTM if he hadn’t made a huge fucking error and drawing comparisons with the real world 😂😂 fucking hell man, don’t take everything so literally and take offence to everything you see. You’ll sleep loads better at night.
 
United's three best players vs Forest were Berge, Wes and Egan - in that order. Egan would've been first if it wasn't for the mistake. He made several vital blocks and tackles that were as good as a goal. Wes made one excellent save from the header. The rest you'd have expected him to make tbh. Osborn, Stevens, Fleck and Norwood were really poor.

On this issue / post Matt Bianco IS indeed a cunt, yes - a talented artist but a cunt.

Sage advise (to someone you know SFA of) about (not) being offended by “words on a screen” - not sure if you’re being ‘ironic’ or not - after all I’m not smart enough to understand your humour.

I am not taking offence with your post, trust me I am not so easily offended. What I am questioning is you calling other posters idiotic or even "dense" because they pull you up for making the most cretinous comparison imaginable.

If you think it's a fair comparison to make then fine, but don't complain when others point at you and laugh. And don't try to deny what you wrote, because it's there for everyone to see, and it is, frankly, ridiculous.

Most of this thread has been lost on me, as I blocked Lewisham Blade a few months ago, and life's been better since.

I thought Wes, Egan and Berge were the best 3 players on Saturday. I like Deadbats reports and he gave Egan 4.5/10 which I was going to argue with but couldn't be arsed. Egan hasnt had his best season, but he's been excellent the last few games. Hope that continues tonight
 
Got to disagree with some re Egan. I accept he made some vital blocks that kept us in the game in the second half. However he was all over the place in the first half, he constantly lost his man and seemed to look bemused at times as to what he should have been doing. Then we had the massive error.

I'm a fan of Egans but he hasn't had the best of seasons and for me he was poor v Forest. Blasphemy I know but I thought Robertson had a better game than him.

However i will caveat all this with the statement that our real problem when we play fast mobile teams is our midfield is shite and offers no protection. If we play the same formation with the same defenders next season we have to sign an aggressive, mobile.number 4 to play in front of them.
 
Having read through the mostly vitriolic previous 2 pages of this thread, and having completely lost track of the what it is actually about!!, can someone please tell me who Egan has signed for!!??? ;)😀

Just a reminder, not an excuse!, on saturday we lost to a forest side that had rested SEVEN First Team Players in their previous game and came to BDTBL fresh from a 12/14 day break!. Not a luxury any of our players were afforded!, and it clearly showed!. Let's hope saturday was a one-off poor show and the 3 day break to tonight's 2nd Leg is a 'leveller' as we know most of our players 'powers of recovery' are quite good.

Taken off in the Republic of Ireland game....injured. Fortunately it didn't look too serious but it will be few weeks before he will be fully fit.... hopefully will be ok for the start of the season.
May put off potential suitors.

I don't think he'd have been going anyway to be honest, not fit what United would want for him. He's still a good player, got 2/3 more years in him, maybe more, although he may end up as a back up the older he gets.
 
The longer Bournemouth go without any centre backs, the more likely it feels we'll receive a slightly panicked series of bids for Egan.

Not many options knocking around for Bournemouth that have performed at Prem level, or who would even consider moving to Bournemouth.

It's just a thought/fear. No gossip or rumours available.

His lack of pace, vulnerability to the ball in behind and inability to play in a 2 limit him to our level.

I'm a big fan of Egan and he's bloody reliable in terms of availability, but I don't see an abundance of PL clubs coming knocking for him. It would have already happened by now.

No abundance. Specifically Bournemouth, who have 1 first choice CB for probably 3 starting CB slots.

2 of 3 if you count Mepham who was often on the bench last season.

100% - he was decent last year but not exactly a stand out performer by any stretch or by his standards.

He’s also getting on. The people fearing PL bids I think might be wide of the mark. However, if a Burnley or similar came in and wanted a solid Championship CB for a season I could see that. We might have to think what to do if they bid

He's 29 - Not even close to "getting on" for a CB. Probably got another 5 years left before he starts to fade.

Fair enough but how often are premier league teams falling over themselves to sign 29 year old championship players?

Genuinely Can’t think of many examples when it wasn’t an Player with potential under say 23/24 that was poached by a PL side. There’s no upside left with Egan

True, but there's zero resale value at that age.
It's likely their last big contract which can attract trouble in itself (though hugely unlikely with a character like Egan).
