Get him gone, he’s wank. Has been for nearly 2 years now

To quantity if we sell him and can use those funds to buy 2 additional CBs, (a tall strong brick wall type and a young, more mobile who can bring the ball out comfortably type) then I would be ok with itIf we can get over £10 mill for him i would let him go.
Has his liabilities which we all know about, if we can start building a team without being so reliant on him playing every game then it will be 1 step forward in my book.
Yep pretty much can't disagree with anything you've said there. He's been a big part of our success but he's also not infallible but gets away with it because there are worse defenders in the squad than him over the last couple of seasons which by default make him look better.
He turns like a tanker, not the biggest centre half you'll ever see and plays in a position within the back 3/5 which is probably the easiest to replace.
I'd be sorry to see him go but I'd cash in if West Ham came in with a decent bid. A championship standard head it kick it merchant to replace him wouldn't be too hard to find.
Agree, I'm certainly not wishing him out the door but if we do fall short and we get an offer and he wants to go then you'd hope we have a plan.Egan would be very hard to replace, despite having some off games in the last couple of years. Might be a careful what you wish for scenario. He's been a stalwart for us, top quality for long periods.
Although he has missed about 600 easy headed chances in the last year alone...
Don’t we already have both of those just coming into the squad ?To quantity if we sell him and can use those funds to buy 2 additional CBs, (a tall strong brick wall type and a young, more mobile who can bring the ball out comfortably type) then I would be ok with it
There is literally no explanation for the multitude of fuckwits and know nowts that have made embarrassingly wide of the mark assessments on this thread.Egan’s departure would be a loss that would for sure fuck up any chance of the play offs.
The views expressed on here describing his poor performances this season are woefully wide of the mark.
A superb CB at championship level. One of the very best in fact.

Main centre back of a team in the league above who is in contract and once played for them.Strange one. Not entirely sure on Sunderland's finances but wouldn't have thought they'd be able to afford him or his wages
John Egan allegedly on the radar.
Folks first and foremost Iam certainly not an ITK and don't profess to be. But have got a family friend who is is at executive level at Everton. From time to time he gets in contact with snippets he picks up in the circles he frequents. Got in contact last night to say he had ' heard ' through...www.readytogo.net

That's a bit like linking us to Conor Coady.
Bizarre.
For once, we totally agree. There is literally no explanation for the multitude of fuckwits and know nowts that have made embarrassingly wide of the mark assessments on this thread.

There's no arguing that his performance on Saturday was top drawer however throughout the season he has not hit the levels consistently that we have come to expect. I am sure he would agree with that, and its not helped again with a constant changing , for whatever reason, of the back three. His having the ball and playing out of our 18 yard box is also something he certainly did not like during the Slav era and he has made some howlers passing it out. However he is a top drawer defender and would be a terrible loss and there is no doubt that he has carried our defence through some sloppy periods which due to those around him has left him sometimes floundering, but as you say our know notws can't work that lot out. There is literally no explanation for the multitude of fuckwits and know nowts that have made embarrassingly wide of the mark assessments on this thread.

Can not understand why any Blade would want to see the back of him ,strange. There was one top notch striker who would have liked to see the back of him on Saturday .In fact he had an early bath never looked like adding to his record breaking goal tally . Egan had him in his pocket and you could see it was getting to him. There's no arguing that his performance on Saturday was top drawer however throughout the season he has not hit the levels consistently that we have come to expect. What's more bizarre is one of them saying 'no thanks' 'cause he's 30!
Might want to run this back dearThere is literally no explanation for the multitude of fuckwits and know nowts that have made embarrassingly wide of the mark assessments on this thread.
