Today as in previous games I thought John Egan was outstanding. He typifies all that is good about this Blades team.At 4million he is proving to be an absolute bargain.
At one point in the first half he slipped whilst in possession, with Mane about to race clear he headed the ball whilst sprawled on the ground!Hes been the stand out player for me so far in the first 7 games.
Goal difference stands at 0 I think that’s outstanding.

A clearance header from one inch, has to be a record 😂

just seen it back, just sums him up and the whole team!

Replying to this again today, now that I'm sober, just to reiterate that John Egan is a world-class player. Absolute rock at the back for us, and this tackle just shows how much he cares. He put himself on the line, risked getting kicked in the head, just to try and keep them out.

Oh, and he wrote a song for us. "John Egan from CARK." Blades legend. Next captain when Billy retires.

£4 million us an absolute steal.
As mentioned he will be the player we struggle to hold unto, even if we stay up.
Tbh all our defenders bar basham (because of his age) could be targets for the top 6.

I think his 'header' will feature tonight on MOTD2 on the feature 2Good2Bad.

I'm fortunate enough to have seen Joe Shaw, Eddie Colquhoun, Chris Morgan and now John Egan.

All different centre halves (backs) but each were (are) true leaders.

That’s handball playing Subbureo.

I find your poor grasp of the basic rules of the iconic table football game of our generation, disappointing to say the least Cerberus Blade

I bet you were a ‘pusher’ 🙄

I admit I ‘flicked to kick’and deliberately knelt on my opponents players when they weren’t looking. I once took out several players from the Brazil 1970 Wotld Cup winning team with that tactic. I had to in all honesty. They were playing my hand-painted Sheffield United team and were getting on top.

Fantastic player 4 mill thanks Brentford. Absolute rock superb in every way yesterday and will (deserves ) 50 caps for his country

Enda will be 30 before next season starts so hopefully that'll help. If he was 24, he'd be worth £30m easy.

3.5 million lads

I don't think we will be sussed out - what we are doing isn't a gimmick. I do believe other teams will copy and improve the system we have. What would happen if we had world-class players implementing our system?

In every footballing era, some genius forward-thinking manager changes formations and tactics and that becomes the norm. With technology advancing - that will happen faster and faster.

My main point, is that we have to continue adapting - both tactically and philosophically as we continue this amazing journey.
I can't figure Mcburnie out and I don't know if the problem is the role he's asked to play, the lack of service or if he's not got the right partner.

If he's to be the main goalscorer then his partner has to be Didsy, but so far he doesn't look like scoring in open play.

If he's to be the hold up man then he needs a finisher alongside him, which has to be Sharp or Mousset.

He's an enigma so far as I just can't figure out his role or who he needs alongside him.

There's a good player in there somewhere, but I don't know what is needed for it to come out.

He did well today but Robinson kept chasing the ball when we didn't have it, while McBurnie walked around at slow pace showing no desire to win it back. That said, he did more overall than Robinson, Mousset and Clarke, though Mousset was starved of the ball through us giving it away so much.

I'm eating tons of humble pie. When we signed him I said "£4m...for a bloke from Brentford!!!?" Fuckinghell he's made me eat those words. He is an absolute colossus at the back. Superb player.

Definitely our best defender. The best footballer in the back five is Enda I’d say, but for pure out and out defending, Egan every time. Not to say JOC and Bash haven’t contributed because they definitely have, but Egan is a step above in my view.
