Player Suggestion Jack Wilshere

Desperate times call for desperate measures. He need someone in midfield. It would be worth a punt IF he'd sign until January.

He is not a "first class bell-end" at all actually. In fact he's a really down to earth fella
 
He’s a more proven version of ravel in terms of squad position this isn’t a punt based on potential but a punt based on fitness and I wouldn’t be against it
 
If he's fit, right contract etc. He would be our best player by a country mile. Without injuries he would have been in the running for a balon d'or in his career. Depends on his mental as much his physical health though, does he trust his body etc.
 
Even if he wasn't that great, he could help our midfielders flourish/step it up.

Even if we wanted to take a punt... We can only name a squad of 25. So we wouldn't be able to sign any other midfield or attacking players unless we sell someone.

Not necessarily Brewster and Bogle are under 21 so wouldn’t count to the 25 man squad

Definitely a huge injury risk but I think, if the terms are right for the club (which we know they will be with SB and CW in charge) then I think he'd be fantastic as an option in the squad, fitness permitting.

Creative midfielder, able to pick games apart, just what we could do with at the moment!

I mean, he's got to be better than Lunny.
 

If wages were right I would give him a season long deal, with an option for the second. He is injury prone, but so was McGoldrick before he came to us.

If he’s not fit enough to play and make an immediate impact, it’s a straight no from me. He peaked 10 years ago and I’m fed up of us taking a punt on players and then they steal a wage and a place in our 25 man squad, never getting anywhere near the starting 11....Retsos, Zivkovic, Rodwell, Ravel, even Jags to name a few...
 
If this lad can’t handle a a few games for shamers, he’s gunna end his career in one of our “full tilt” training sessions

Which game did you last see him play in where he was quality?
 
How much does he want to play? And where is he prepared to play?

How much would he be prepared to play for?

What terms would he accept?

Finally....can he improve us, stay fit and prove himself completely dedicated to the club?

Lots of questions over this one, and even though I personally might have looked at a Sturridge, he at least has done a bit more than Wilshere.
However, One year deal, £5k a week basic, £10k a week playing bonus with other extra incentives on performance....sign him up.
Obviously a huge wage cut with little commitment from us, so add an auto option of an extra year if we stay up plus if he plays in 75% of upcoming fixtures he receives a cash payment which would bump his salary up to match what the rest of the squad will have been paid.
This rewards success from him and dangles a carrot to go and earn.

He should be far from done at 28, and despite lacking match fitness the fact he’s been fit a blind available to play for a long period is encouraging. Though may indicate he’s lost some of what he may have had too
 
Wilshere would be a quality if hes fit as he says , if its ben osborne or wilshere its a no brainer.


A fit wilshere is probably better than fleck aswell
 
I'd take him based on it being deadline day and we need a present. OK might be a crap one but need one non the less.
