Neither does the appellation ‘director Kevin McCabe’ in relation to our long-time owner and controller.

The Sun is odious, corrupt and treats the truth as it’s own plaything. I despise it so much I refuse to read this thread...

Oh.
As does every other newspaper and mainstream news organisation of all political persuasions in this country, that doesn't mean that some of their journalists have contacts that provide accurate information from time to time.

But there’s no reason, no evidence to suspect that they aren’t.

How many times have you worked at a football club? It’s fairly well known that they often operate differently to other types of business. It’s also often been said that McCabe won’t ‘sell us down the river’ and leave us with a dodgy owner. Maybe he’s leading this plan so that he can ensure we’re being set up properly for the future?

What was it about McCabe’s talk that made you think there is evidence of discord?
On Monday McCabe said the Prince was brought in to provide wealth and the ownership structure needs reviewing. There is a possibility Kevin has found other investors and has introduced them to the Prince. He certainly wouldn’t then lead talks as the outgoing partner. It’s the Prince who has to agree terms and how to work with new partners whilst McCabe departs. The only scenario where they would both be working together on the agreement would be if this is a 3rd partner. Unlikely as Jim Phipps has been congratulating Kevin on his departure. I think we can rule that one out.

This could be harmonious but it’s clear from his comments that the Prince was expected to provide wealth and didn’t and that has irked him.

There are several other strands. All the McCabes departed the Board in September with a statement about how they had served SUFC etc. Suddenly in October they are all back and no such statements this time round regarding the sale. Do you not find that odd?

No point discussing this further as you could be right or I could be right. We don’t know but we’ll find out soon I hope.

Yeah you're right. A bit of red mist descended due to another member posting in tandem with you spoiled the discussion with some random claptrap.

Would that ‘random claptrap’ be someone pointing out that you’re wrong and you being unable to argue against it?

Apparently it's these guys according to Faceweb.

The one on the left is Yusuf Giansiracusa. He’s already on our Board! He’s the Prince’s legal adviser and works for Jones Day. Probably not surprising he’s around at the moment.

No idea on the other guy, could be within the Prince’s clan or someone new with money?

Why? Where is this money coming from? Is it a credible story with sources or is it just an easy story to type to assume a reasonable low level and comparatively poor member of the Saudi royal family is loaded and has weathy investors?

Based on logic and he credibility, or what should be lack of sources, I’m going to play my “bullshit” card.

You can play whichever card you want Bob.

I'll play my sitting on the fence card, because you, me and 99% of Blades fans are indeed pissing in the wind. This Nixon rumour is just another in a series of rumours on here and elsewhere and bears no credence either way until the board announce as to wtf is actually going on,

Foxy will know the score and could kill this thread stone dead if he chooses to.

So Wilder's bessie intimates worrying changes are afoot.

The club puts out a statement which only confirms there are potential ownership changes.

Jim Phipps on social media puts pictures of him and the Prince together singing his praises and drop hints whether deliberate or not.

Now Alan Nixon says Wilder has met investors and everyone is upbeat.

All in the space of 7 days. I know they say a week is a long time in politics but.....

Where is any substance to the significant investment rumour?
You say sitting on the fence, I say ignore an unsubstantiated rumour. I don’t see any difference and basically there’s nothing to see here.

Aren't all rumours unsubstantiated Bob? I thought that's why they are just rumours

I don't know what is going down here, but I keep an open mind until the official story breaks

Usually they have some source or basis in fact. This has nothing but someone hearing the story around McCabe and the Prince and seeming making something up.
Quintessential fake news, and that can cause problems by falsely rasing expectations.

I agree with the principle of your post Bob, but whether there is any truth to this particular rumour or not, I still don't know either way as yet

The Blades boss has met backers of an investment deal that would inject millions into the club.

But CW has had 'millions' to spend this season, so not news really, just speculative journalism.

With the championship as it is, even tens of millions goes nowhere.

Talking Heads - RHODES to nowhere

No, it's exactly what you've just said in this post.

Ok, we’ll try it one more time.

With only 4 players available for 3 positions (and arguably no cover for Fleck or Lundstram) why wasn’t it necessary to sign more than 1 player in January? Would you have been happy to see this season written off in the hope future investment might materialise?

Easy enough questions, though I’ve not seen an answer yet.

Mustn’t do that. We have to know it all and know it now.

I demand a statement.

We ❤️ Statements.

First time post for me. My gut feeling is the Saudi investment is limited and Prince must now play his hand to counter as Kevin has grown frustrated with lack of significant funds materialising from HRH and has called him out.
KM realistically has 3 options - No1 to be bought out fully and recover his investment by HRH and new Saudi based backers as per the initial conjecture as KM cannot meet the investment levels required to compete for Premier League push and the Prince wishes to buy out club at Championship prices instead of 10 times the sum if Blades do win promotion. This makes some sense but Saudi money has not been bountiful to date so unlikely in my opinion.
No 2 Option - No substance in additional Saudi funds but more likely KM has found Asian (Chinese) backers especially with the links KM has with construction and China plus the potential Chinese investment in Sheffield as a whole raises the clubs profile. Could be wealthy Chinese investment to replace the 50% shares held by HRH and more but KM retains a holding and a guiding hand. Could be best option for club.
No 3 Option- KM buys out HRH and then sells the whole club lock stock all assets to new investors immediately with no retention of shares and my guess is still Chinese or Asian money where KM has trust and knowledge of whoever it proves to be.

All conjecture on my part but all possible and viable and Mr Wilder has money to play with in summer.

I like the look of your No 3 ;)

Do you have any facts that they are making stuff up or are you just making up a rumour?
