len, I worded what I said carefully. I can't imagine that anybody could make Malaysia's 40 richest, based entirely on boleaux. The family business exists and is very substantial, he seems like a bit of a loose cannon, but a bit more wedged than Sheard.

I think the point of the investment issue (as many clubs find) is that there aren't a lot of people willing to throw money away on a football club.

If you were a wealthy investor then you'd be looking to make a return on your investment for as little outlay as possible.

But there is a small number of lunatics wanting to invest in our wonderful game, knowing full well that they'll get nothing directly out of it but for publicity. The vast majority of these wealthy individuals will just want a football club for a bit of a play thing, but some (like perhaps Abramovic) get lumbered with it without achieving what they want.

Personally i'd rather stick with the devil we know, but any sort of high profile sponsorship is of course welcomed

What is astonishing about our collapse as a club and business is that an experienced businessman in McCabe has so utterly mismanaged everything.
The one thing he hasn't yet done is sell us to someone like Rubber Man and I hope he still has enough about him not to make the ultimate sale down the river.

It does seem this investment is really not worth any hype but I guess its better than a kick in the teeth.

An observation on last night. Sky show bernnie Eccleston and The benitton man(cant remember his name) the owners of QPR, worth approx £4billion between them. Mr McCabe broke and bankrupt in the ideas dept for the Blades.

Yet for the last few years QPR were nowhere, going through more managers per season than us! Only now are their management skills starting to show as they went and got the forgotten man, Warnock who everyone sees as a bit of a ranter, yet can actually find the right blend (for not that much money) to get the team in the position to get out of this league and has proved he can do it.

Perhaps McCabe et al should remember that before they start wielding the axe in the summer

No point, McCabe's going to end up doing that anyway in a few months time.
