Anyone who is out of contract in the summer and has not been available for a minimum of 50% of game time this season should be let go. The only exception to this for me would be the young lads I.e. Jebbo. Anyone else, thanks and theres your cards.

If Lowe is OOC in the summer then hopefully we will have seen the last of him. May sound harsh but he will have been paid a small fortune in wages (as will others) since we signed him and he's hardly been available. Absolutely no sense whatsoever in continuing to pay healthy wages to players who are hardly ever available. We are not a charity so time to start to be ruthless and less sentimental.

Yeah the more I think about it he has been missing a lot since we signed him. He even got 2 injuries while he was on loan at Forest.

Depending on the nature of the injuries (i.e. reoccurring ) I'd agree. If not and just luck/our methods based then I'd take a kinder view. It's cheaper to retain than buy, so long as the problems can be solved.

Very much agree, but we should persist with RND (on the right terms) because you should be careful about throwing away such a useful, versatile left sided asset - they're rare, especially ones who didn't cost you anything

Yet I could hardly complain if we released him - we've been nowhere near ruthless enough with other players. Just wonder whether this would be swinging a bit too far the other way

Let's just say, when you're playing for a losing team and no intention of being here next season, you're more likely to say your calf or hamstring is feeling a bit tight.

Take that however you like

You can, the injury issue is a failure of the staff at the club. It's been a problem for going on 3 years now and heads need to roll.

Exacerbated by what Hecky was making them do and now Wilder is trying to get them properly fit but has to manage everyone's game time. Hence why we only see Davies for 20 minutes here and there.
Our problems don’t appear as bad as Liverpool and we would expect them to have the best staff. Maybe the speed, intensity and length of the current matches are more to blame ?

I for one would love to see the alternate reality where we correctly decide not to sell Ndiaye, he starts the first couple of games fantastically, is open for contract discussions, then he goes on international duty and tears his ACL. Better release him, right?

RNDs hamstrings must be made out of tissue paper

He played for a good few seasons without issue until last time out.

I don’t know what our internal investigation into the injury situation concluded, but if it has made recommendations and we can’t improve on this situation in the next year or so, then it’s time for big changes.

Well, I would have to say Yes Utd should release him. Cos in this alternate reality United are owned by a joint ownership of Elon Musk, Bernard Arnault, Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg. So the side we have is fucking unbelievable and we don't need an injured Ndiaye clogging up our magnificent all conquering squad. Oh and I'm the SUFC manager who is paid ridiculous amounts of moolah whilst I also moonlight as an international porn star who's hung like a horse. Easy peasy this alternate reality lark. Like you,I would love to see this alternate reality.

I'm just trying to poke holes in your ridiculously idiotic "can't play half the games, move them on" view regardless of any sort of context whatsoever

Maybe I am. Let's just leave it that I'm fucking glad you're not our director of football 🤣

So am I. I've busy enough being the international porn star who's hung like a horse in this alternate reality that we are both so fond of.

Hamstring injuries for football players usually take between 1 and 6 weeks to heal. RNDs first one took 14 months, the latest one, on the other leg, has ruled him out for the season. This is nothing to do with the competence of the medical staff, hence my comment on RNDs hamstrings being made of paper.

Why would you offer contracts out to players constantly injured?

Everything is situational. I'm trying to make the point that having hard and fast rules based on arbitrary availability measures is fairly silly. The other guy would take a player who'd signed a four year deal with us in the summer of 2020, played pretty solidly, not missed a game, be perfectly worthy of a renewal, then have someone go in late on him in preseason and break his leg putting him out until January and say, "sorry, you've not been available for half the games, fuck off"

I've no issues with looking at someone who isn't conditioning himself correctly, pushing himself back into games too early (which you think would be stopped by a competent medical staff, but...) and getting aggravations or compensatory injuries, and taking that into consideration, as that is on the player. But generally speaking, random injuries happen at random, and the concept of being "injury prone" is generally overrated, when all a prior injury really does is possibly make a future injury a touch harder to come back from. Those are not on the player.

Egan also looks like being out for the season. It’s quite possible that Slimane will be the only player on that list who is still with us next season.

That scenario would need filing under “Self Harm news”, not “Injury news”.
