yeah exactly, we've shipped a few goals, 8 in 3 games, which isn't ideal, but the important things is to steady things. We've had a lot more of the good games than bad.

Out of interest, without looking at stats from last night, did we create much v Fleetwood?
NO

So in 16 days he's gone from 'Top Drawer' to terrible?

I've seen a lot of people mention him signing his new contract and it's complete rubbish. Do you really think players don't care about winning?
Terrible, show me where I uttered those words.

He's been poor for 3 games and at fault for a few goals. What's hard to understand?
That new contract could have a bigger bearing than you think.

The contract has no bearing. If he was playing like he didn't care you might have a point but he isn't so you don't.

'Terrible' might have been an exaggeration but you did say you don't rate him, whereas 16 days ago he was 'Top Drawer'.

He's been poor for 3 games. Yes, as I said he's on a poor run of form. Does that make him a bad player? Is he no longer 'Top Drawer' because of it?

I've never said to send him back, fuck me, talk about OTT.
We were interested in Webster in the summer, we still had the same amount of defenders as we do now.

I don't think he's our weakest link at the back, I think Basham is. But Webster as a defender is better than both. We need to stop conceding goals.
we either play eel right side of a back 3 or not at all for me and if chris decides to go back to a back 4 surely wright and o connell would be the best 2 in there thing with that system would be we could have freeman and o shea down our right flank could be an interesting combination and im certain samir will win a place in there as well for me hes the best signing in this window coutts fleck and duffy gonna have to up there game to keep these 2 new lads out and that can only be good for us scougy and mcnulty can go for me both might be lucky to even get on bench soon as for leon clarke if we dont sell him still got a feeling he is gonna be a useful sub in the run in will be a good option to get him and hanson using there physiques in opponents penalty areas in last 20 if things not going to plan still got every confidence in chris and i still think we will get automatic promotion cyraww agghhhh !

Didn't see much to write home about from where I was sat. In fact trying to think back not sure I can remember one clear cut chance. But Fleetwood were quick to close us down and in numbers.
btw have you seen the comedy defending for the 2nd goal yet?

Not yet, was waiting to see it tonight!

A few weeks ago it was "come on board show some ambition, sign up EEL, we can make him the bedrock of our defense for years, he's out of contract, just offer Wolves £500,000 and make him one of our best paid players"

We actually had people telling McCabe to "back Wilder and pay whatever it takes to get EEL".

Now apparently he is garbage and should be replaced immediately.

It's a good job McCabe and Wilder don't read these boards otherwise we would bounce from one extreme to another.

It's not an easy thing to admit, but a fair chunk of our fans are childish idiots. They 'want' something desperately then 5 minutes later 'want' something different, like bored toddlers. When they don't get it, the toys get chucked out of the pram with monotonous regularity.

Whatever happened to coaching and building a team organically?

I think everyone posts shit when we lose because we're pissed off and common sense goes out of the window. It's no coincidence that the later in the evening and the more drunk posters are, the more shit is posted.

I try not to post straight after a defeat because I'm certainly not capable of maintaining a rational perspective.

I'll be worried.

Let's give Millwall another ring and see if we can do a deal for Webster, we'll even offer them Wilson in return...

Desperate for a centre half. That's 34 goals conceded and counting. 5 at the back works, Don't want to rip it up, but as it stands only 2 of them actually deserve a shirt, Wright and JOC.

We're pinning all our hopes on Wright coming back. I hope he's ready.

What makes you think Millwall would be even remotely interested in Wilson ?

Maybe it's the formation and not 5 at the back dosent actually work anymore.

Probably because we have had three bad games, back to back, lost two, drawn one,1 point from a possible 9, Scunthorpe two games in hand and only two points behind us, Bolton 3 games in hand and only 7 points behind us, every chance of dropping out of the automatics in the weeks to come and potentially facing Fleetwood again in the play offs, should it come to that.

Hardly looked like scoring against Walsall, managed to scrape a draw with Gillingham, never looked like scoring last night. Conceding goals at an alarming rate, 8 in the last three games.

Apart from that, everything is fine.

We had two disallowed against Gillingham and their best player was their GK.

Last night two defensive errors cost us two goals and Wilder had a massive brain fart at half time and abandoned the formation and style which had gotten us this far.

Granted we were poor and certain individuals looked bad (EEL, Coutts) but the sky is still up there...

So which is it then?
Listen to me SB, those stats are very misleading mate.

Fleetwood did defend well but we played to their strengths, they had two big lads at the back who mopped up everything, we needed Hanson to get changed into a kit sharpish. :)

EEL & Coutts
Not to mention the non-exsistent Scottish pair McNulty and Scougall.
It was like playing each half with 10 men.

It was a bit tongue in cheek.
5 at the back propelled us to top of the league, I wouldn't throw it out just yet.

I thought those two went without saying!! If they are the answer, then god knows what the question is.

McNulty getting pulled at halftime was the one thing Wilder did right yesterday. Other than that it was his worst game in charge.

But hey it happens. So long as he has the awareness to identify where he royally fucked up and make the adjustments. Great managers do make mistakes but it's how they learn and respond that makes the difference.

Too right, Phil. As long as people keep saying 'it's only a blip' and 'we're top of the table' we're up shit creek. This 'blip' has been coming since Chesterfield away. One goal down and they hit the woodwork and 0-2 is a very different proposition. In between superb performances (Southend, second half v. Swindon) we've been riding our luck.

Thank God teams have 'parked the bus' at BDTBL. But since Walsall, the game has changed. Teams now know how fragile and immobile our defence is and so utterly reliant on Sharp up front. (where would we be without his 40 league goals last season and this?) Teams like Bolton and Scunthorpe will now come on the front foot.

Last night, the ghost of Nigel Adkins stalked the Lane.

EEL had a shitter of a game last nite playing in the central defensive position, its NOT his best position.

He should be on the right side, its his best position.

When he first came the right hand side is where he slotted in,i believe that was the Gills game away, the beggining of that great run.

Get the defence settled again ie) EEL WRIGHT JOC.....................if Wright is not fit and looks like he cannot stay the course then sign or loan from somewhere a centre back that can play the Wright role, its a MUST do this Jan.

Wilder can tinker with the forwards and midfield as much as he wants as long as he leaves McNulty and Scougall out of it.
