Very good performance, thought we deserved it. If they go up I can see them getting hammered every week. Thought they were very average at the most.

I think i'm gonna have to give Tonge or Killa the MOTM.

Nothing got past killa including that no body Campbell.

Tonge chased absolutely everything down, did very well.

Blackwell was right!

I was, like many others wondering why Cotterill was taken off at half time instead of Squinny.

Squinny was excellent in the second half along with a few others.

Well done Blackie!

:D:D:D

I agree.

I'm guessing it's because he thought Quinny would track back and get stuck in alot more than Cotteril.

id have done the same as blacky TBH. squinny will get back more than cotteril if they pressed us. we had tonge going forward so didnt really need 2 with both strikers!

Anyway, UP THE FACKING BLADES!!!!

Plenty of fight and heart shown by our lads today. The first half was a bit frantic with neither side really getting hold of the ball. Then Morgan got sent off (straight red... three match ban) just before half time and things looked a bit worrying.

But whatever KB said at half time obviously worked. Stephen Quinn's goal was sexual and the lad looked ever so slightly pleased. Cue booking for shirt off celebration. The penalty had to be given considering Morgan's sending off and Beats was as calm as ever.

The front two were knackered and never stopped running.

I was surprised Cotterill was taken off for Ehiogu at half time but you have to admit that it worked. Speed was assured and sat back which allowed Quinn and Tonge to run their little legs off.

Naysmith made some crucial challenges. Killa was a rock. Ehiogu did what he needed to do. Halls was helped greatly by Beattie dropping back and possibly just needs to sharpen up his reflexes as a few times he was slow to react to loose balls (oo er missus!). Paddy made some decent saves but was well protected by his defence.

Morgan... the sending off was a bit soft. It was at least a booking and he'd been booked before so would have been off... but I don't think it really warranted a straight red for the position Paddy was in.

On another note. We had a Hull fan sat directly behind us in the Directors Box. What an absolute prick. The amount of times we had to tell him to shut up in the first half was unbelievable. Why he thought the home fans wanted to hear his self-important biased views I don't know. I reported him to my lovely steward at half time who said "slap him" :D

The look on his face as I turned round and gave him a little wave at 1-0 could've soured milk. He had his head in his hands at 2-0. I hope your car breaks down on your miserable journey home and by the time you get there, you realise your wife's left you for the milkman... twatface :D

BTW... my MOTM was Quinny. Kicked all over and still running at the final whistle. There are plenty of other players in the running though I should imagine...

I was worried about making chances but Beattie was awesome and Tonge had his best game of the season for me.

Thought Killa and Naysmith were excellent too.

:)

Awesome second half display.
If Killgallon hadn't been on the pitch, Beattie would have been by far our best defender, he was everywhere.
If anyone wants a Beattie at their club they can have him for £15million + £1million per game played after he signs.
We cannot sell him in the summer, he's awesome.

Did anyone see Windass grab Paddys balls?!?
and the fighting Hull fans too

Yeah :D I must say Phil Dowd was his usual absolutely useless self. From what I saw, Windass was booked for asking Quinny if he wanted his leg rubbing better.

and the fighting Hull fans too

Aye... a lass got thrown out at one bit too.

Did you see the dickhead run on the pitch? Very clever isn't it? Your team is about to get promoted but you get yourself banned from grounds for life.

Great game, great to get 3 points from them, Beattie awesome, good decision by the gaffer, two great goals, definatly a sending off, have to agree, definatly a penalty and a laugh to see the Hull fans have a pop at eachother in the stands :)

S'alright, apparently Morgan was sent off for two yellows. I didn't see the second one, only the red :)

Not quite as bad then.

How they escaped without having more cards i'll never know.

Not impressed with the officials or Hull City today to be honest :)

Dowd is always the same though. Petty when he decides he doesn't like you... turning a complete blind eye to other things. The amount of free kicks they took with the ball still moving was unbelievable... mostly in front of the linesman on our side.

Dowd was appaling at best. Made terrible decisions for both teams and his linesman near us on Kop was shocking. Even though i thought it was a second booking Campbell did seem to fall over his heels, it was only a slight tug at most.

But after a boring forst half, in which both teams didn't really get going, the second half was a refreshing sight and a trip down nostalgia lane of the Blades we know of old. I must say when Morgan was sent off i feared we would get a battering second half. However the old case of, ten men play better, and was certainly the case today. Anyone who came in for the second half might not have noticed which team actually had ten men.

But what a brilliant performance from all ten lads and the fans were very vocal in the second half too. Was rather disappointed with their fans, good following, but they weren't very loud at all.

Looking forward to next season now if we can carry some of this momentum, keep hold of the better players and strenghten in midfield, i really think we could win this league. Oh and keep Blackwell of course :D

Made me proud today, up the Blades

Anyone see the article in program about Morgan's discipline :p, slight coincidence he got sent off

It was a tough game as I predicted to begin with, but we reacted brilliantly to Morgan's sending off. SUPERB goal by Stephen Quinn, and satisfying too.

terrific game, thanks robbie was really appreciated.

Despite my loyalty to referees i have to agree that dowd was actually that.

With look he will get taken down by the assessment of him

Killa mOTM for me, although it was a toss up between him and UGO.

Thought UGO deserved some praise for coming in and being as strong as he was

great team performance!

Even i've given tonge motm, and i cant stand him :p

Played very well today!

Naysmith MOTM had a solid game, hard to pick though everyone played well!!

Thought Fagan was running a thin line in the first half consantly berating the referee after being booked.

Can i have ten MOTM votes ? i thought we were awesome in the second half voted for BT but votes for most of the team today would be well deserved. It's just a shame we are running out of games :(

It's a great sign when we all pick someone different.

:p

Everybody played well, but I voted for Eggy for when he skinned one of their players whilst defending, I think it was Campbell as well. :D

The Hull message boards are absolutely hilarious.

Apparently, the kid in the white top wasn't having the living shite kicked out of him by one of his own fans noooo.

They reckon he had merely gone to report a coin being thrown at him from the left of the away section before being dragged off by a steward.

There's me thinking a lad in a blue t-shirt was leathering him all over before running away to the concourse being followed by stewards... the lad in the white top falling over the barrier and being picked up by stewards and the coppers. And wouldn't it have to be a bit of an impressive throw from the John Street to the fans on the far side of the net?

Bless 'em... they don't get let out to big cities very often, they get a bit confused and excitable :)

i saw a kid in a whit top slingin punches like they were going out of fashion. Then he fell down and got picked up by stewards, a kid in blue went up the steps with a few lads, then coppers from the top rushed underneath.

all the excitement to come see us :D

Beattie - 7 goals in 5 games
really hope we can keep him for next season, no matter what league we are in :)
as i am more than confident he can hit 20+ again
i mean how many would he have it he wasnt out for a month 25? 26?

Well done to Blackwell for having the tactical nous and the balls to react to Morgan's sending off in a positive way. I thought, as I'm sure many others did, that he would take of Billy for Ehiogu. Cotterill had a decent first half, and didn't really deserve to be sacrificed, but it had to be somebody.
Many managers would have taken off a forward and played 4-4-1. That Blackwell chose not to and go 4-3-2 is in his credit. I know that only victories are any good to us now, and I'm sure that was Blackwell's reasoning behind it, but there are those out there who would have taken off a forward in the hope of maybe catching Hull on the break.
It was a little unfortunate for Morgan, but after his first booking how many could see the pretty much inevitable second yellow being not too far away? Morgs will now miss the Bristol match, but after Ugo's sound display deputising for Morgs the other week I think we will be ok at the back.

I also think that is one of the best atmospheres at the Lane this season, enlivened by the sight of the idiot Hull fans fighting amongst themselves.
