What's our thoughts for next season then? Looks a promising talent when he's fit. If the money's right reckon we'll sign him but with boro coming down, would imagine they'd want a fair bit for him

Would be happy with that.
He's shown enough and the right attitude to be a valuable member of this squad

Are a team that have just been relegated in a position to command big money, though?

Given that Arsenal have apparently made enquiries I'd expect him to either stay at and feature for M'boro next season or move onto a Prem club and feature initially in their U23s, just as DCL has done at Everton.

I reckon the best Utd could hope for would be a further loan if he's not in M'boro's immediate plans and none of the big boys take a risk on him until he's proven that he's overcome his injury.

Will start pre season with Boro, they have already said that, then it will be down to whoever is the new manager there.

Can see him being a part of their first team squad next season.

He has tweeted that he enjoyed his time with us and "our paths may cross again", read into that what you will

Thought he was awful when he came on v Chesterfield. Constantly gave the ball away, I don't see who he'd replace in our first 11 and that's before we strengthen.

Boro should be looking to play him and Connor Ripley regularly next season. Two great assets.

If we get him back it'll be on loan but I don't think it will happen.

just thought he seemed rusty personally, which is not surprising as he's hardly had any game time since November.

I think he's a great player, but it's down to their new manager. If Gibson gives him £££ to invest, Harry might be available. If the purse strings need tightening I guess there's a chance he might yet come back.

I believe Gibson will deliver a very decent budget to their new man, but I aso believe CW and Harry have had a chat and the outcome is he probably won't be back whatever the 'Boro situation. Hopefully Brooks fills that gap as he's a very similar player.

Anyone hoping we sign Chapman....

What sort of price do you have in mind?

He's off to Chezzy on loan!

He was singing "Wilder, sign me up!" the other night :)

Pace and trickery. And bravado. We're going to need as much of it as we can get, next season. Chappo looks loaded with all three, to me. Was Wilder sober enough to remember ? :),

A million a good sell on

I don't think there's a chance in hell Boro would sell for that amount. He's a very promising player and still very young. £1m is nothing to them.

Weren't Arsenal linked in an article that mentioned £5m as a possible fee? I think we'd be looking at £3m and a big sell on at least, and that's if they don't rate him very highly.

And that's not the sort of figure we can be spending on a player like him at this stage.

On his instagram story he's posted a picture of him back at Middlesbrough and, although it's a bad angle, he doesn't seem to happy about it.

He's too young to drink in vegas so I guess thats why he's not over there.

Depends on how they see it. I think if he was in the £5m mark we would have seen more of him last season and not just flashes. I doubt very much he will get much game time with them though last year but I don't think they are going to allow us to develop him from the bench last year. More than likely he won't be back.

Would not surprise me if Tuffty weren't on Middlesborough's shopping list plus a host of other championship clubs.

PS am I on Rumours or General?

No way we can sign him permanently. If they go down, he'll play for them. If they stay up I reckon we'd get him on loan again.

Don't get all this bigging up of Chapman, he couldn't get in our first 11 in division one so unless he's improved massively how would he get in it a division higher after we've strengthened ?

Could say the same about DCL.

A slight distortion of events. Yes, he had restricted opportunities to impress, the most notable was against Orient where he excelled. The manager's preferred playing system has meant that chances have been few and far between, but what it isn't is a reflection on exactly how good Chapman is. A definite talent but as with all players he will eventually decide where his future lies. Personally I think he has something to offer, it might just be that it's not at SUFC.

I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest to see him back here, he seems to have loved his time here, become best mates with Reed and had a few odd tweets this past week. I think he could well be on his way back.

He's certainly shown what he is capable of also seemed to bulk up during his rehabilitation.
