....and it's becoming abundantly clear why no-one fancies forum football - they're all crocked !!This is getting like the scene in Jaws where they are comparing wounds............
He'll still be quicker than half the teamEgan had his leg amputated below the knee last night, but he was back in training this morning and should be ok to play against Fulham once the anti-biotics kick in.
I had a lot of subbuteo players with broken legs. Used Bostik to glue them to the baseBut at least Subbuteo players have the decency to break
Bloody NHS - or were you going private?I did the same, I broke mine at 22, went to the hospital and they said it was a sprain. Went back a year later to get it checked and it was broken. I’ve had 2 operations to shave the bone and stop it grinding but it still hurts most days. Mornings are worse. It’s caused issues with my back and other leg through compensating as well.
If I ever see the nurse again who told me that it was a sprain I’d go full ‘misery’ on her and break her ankles.
Was hoping for a press conference today to enlghten us, but must be tomorrow.
NHS first, went private for the 2nd opinion. When they told me it was a sprain I had 3 months off and got back to playing sports. Took me another 9 months to get a 2nd opinion when I realised it wasn’t right.Bloody NHS - or were you going private?
Diane Abbot did the diagnosis.
Headache apparently...............

The female MP who suffers the most abuse
Diane Abbott received more online abuse in the first half of this year than all women MPs from the Conservative […]inews.co.uk
It might be a good laugh to you, and the others that mock her, but don't you think the huge amount of abuse that she gets is sad, and as she open target for it, does she really deserve all the abuse and mocking?
I'm sure she gives a shit about what I think.
Also, that post you quote is fairly mild. But respect to you and your opinion
Probably not, but I just find the amount of abuse she receives is horrendous, and how people think that it is morally acceptable just to constantly mock her in any which way they see fit.
think I'd rather be dead......I once trapped my foreskin in my zip.
I win ,unless youre dead.
I snapped my ankle 5 years ago, it shattered into a few pieces. I didn't get a picture of the break but managed to get this one with the plates and screws.
It is more painful now in the cold weather than it was then.
When I did it the adrenalin kicked in and lasted for ages. Medic told me to take some paracetemol, no gas or air.
Amazing the pain the body can cope with at times.
I am usually one to oan and groan too about a jab or toothache!!
In the hospital waiting room (an hr after the break and with just paracetemol) I was joking with people and listening to Walsall v Utd on the radio.
So Egan might not necessarily have been in huge pain.
You can see the feint outline of my legs, which are certainly not athletic!- but they are not the 'large' legs seen on the x-ray posted on here earlier. They cannot be Egan's legs.

No mobiles in those days and the Polaroid was in the car. I was about 9 and my mum had to sort me out, which made it 100 times more painful.Oh. Oh Top Trumps can I join in? this is when I had my @rse reattached.....

Nah, we played nowt like football for nearly a year now!I really hope John Egan isn't reading this thread, he will be thinking his career is over.
I’ll ask what everyone is thinking SBB........ who wiped his arse for the next few months?Once, in a former life, I shared a house with a medical student who was known to be a bit “out there”.
I came back to the house from indoor 5-a-side, one night, bringing a mate who’d tripped under a tackle and broken his fall by landing heavily on both elbows, smack down on the polished floor. Poor lad was just about passing out from the pain. “Don’t worry”, says medic, after a thorough examination, “it‘s just bruising. Have a beer, you’ll sleep it off, but it might be a bit sore tomorow”.
Next morning, having failed to sleep at all, let alone sleep it off, we‘re up at A&E, where my mate is found to have shattered both elbows so badly that he spent months with his arms stuck rigid at an angle in those old-fashioned plaster casts. He was a Geordie, who liked a few ales and a moshpit. It did rather cramp his style.
Medic laddo is now a respected member of the profession with senior clinical and teaching posts. We still laugh at him today.
