Anyone heard owt about the tour?

I reckon Wilder is going to have them running to preseason games so we are looking at:

• Hallam F.C. (Sandygate Road, S10) approx. 2.5 miles away.
• Sheffield F.C. (Coach & Horses Ground, Dronfield, S18): approx. 5 miles away.
• Stocksbridge Park Steels F.C. (Bracken Moor, S36): Located approx. 8 miles away.
• Rotherham United F.C. (AESSEAL New York Stadium, Rotherham): Located approx. 5–6 miles away.
• Barnsley F.C. (Oakwell Stadium, Barnsley): Located approx. 11–12 miles away.

The ONE upside to this season ending with a whimper is we can get ahead of planning for next season.

Then again last pre season we looked half decent and we all know how that turned out once the real stuff started.

Although by the announcement a "tour" is now guaranteed along with another game, I hope they aren't there to make disadvantages for the fans and also put unnecessary pressure on the squad and travelling supporters. Recent years we have done Spain and Portugal and before that the deal with Malta and before that the NI/ROI mini tour. It's all well and good however prices soon rack up, luckily I don't have an army of kids or my wife isn't bothered about an away trip but it would be good to choose somewhere that has plenty of facilities, reasonable standard of football and easily reachable if the tour is abroad.

Ideally we have a mini-tour of 2 or 3 matches, followed by a prestige standalone match at BDTBL, similar to when we played Inter Milan that time.

The club should be looking at travel partners and sponsorships to bring together a package deal for supporters

1) Holland/Netherlands - Would be my preferred choice, plenty of travel options and easy to reach clubs like FC Volendam, Ajax 2 and Almere City FC
2) Spain/Portugal - A close 2nd with travel although with the middle east crisis apparently prices in hotels are on the increase
3) Scotland/Ireland - Easily connected with plenty of clubs

We shouldn't also just be playing games for the sake of it, there should be an extended fitness sessions concentrating on strength and conditioning as we have plenty of time before next season starts.

I remember us playing Derby at home when they were in the Prem. We played Estudiantes circa 2011. We expected Sabella to return but unfortunately he didn't as it was around the time he took the Argentina job.

We went to that. It was worth the trip just to watch their No 9. Absolutely demolished United.

That sounds like I enjoyed United being done over.No. The guy was a monster centre forward of the old school and United just didn't have an answer. Good to watch from a footballing perspective.
