FAO Anyone who questions the shape and system we're playing: You're talking nonsense

I just can't see an instance of a manager laying into the fans like that. The only example given is Clough hitting a fan in the 1980's.

I can just about think about Steve Bruce saying that Newcastle fans are asking for too much, but that's about it.

Why did he feel the need to have a dig at fans who suggest playing 442 instead etc. is what I don't understand?
Bassett would hammer us twice a season in my memory.

Yeah talking nonsense. Out played in midfield again. When we did get on the ball it's all tap tap down the sides or hit it long. Nothing at all played through the middle. It's a big pitch but we only play in some parts of it and that is all about the system we are playing

Paul Heckingbottom changed the system... what nonsense!

If only it had happened earlier...

he did, but was that the main factor for the change in attitude, or was it a coincidence, or scoring first, change of players, several players out injured and away from the squad, new manager 'watching' ?

Not for me. The main factor was that we were dominant in midfield because we had 4 to 6 players in that area and Everton's midfield had not time or space to create much. That's thanks to a new formation. Doesn't mean the CBs can't still get forward. If anything it's probably easier in the formation we played last night.
