Will be interested to hear if older fans have family memories of that win. My Uncle Fred (died aged 98 a few years ago) remembered the team’s bus tour round the city, or at least he said he did.

I was there - remember it well. The atmosphere was shit and we only won because of parachute payments.

There's no midweek fixtures before or after it, if some players particularly need a rest then fine, but most should be fine to play.

FA Cup 3rd round

Blades 1 (MacKenzie) Cardiff 3 (Murray, Carver, Woodruff)

For some reason for the match my dad bought us stand tickets for the John Street Stand.

Cardiff were now 3rd bottom of the 2nd division and we were sitting on 5th position of the 1st division so I was extremely confident that we had a better team and Cardiff had a much weaker team since we beat them 9 months earlier. Looking at the front cover of the programme there was a photo of a young lad (could be Man City's mascot for the 1969 FA Cup final, Man City wore black and red shirts) wearing a striped...
