One cult hero I would have loved to have seen was Doug Hodgson - what a guy - hard as frickin nails Aussie - only player I would back bare knuckle against big bad billy!

He used to post on here.

Just seen this. Managed to identify most of the players (even Roy Ridge!) but a few have left me stumped such as the one walking between Geoff Salmons and John Hope, the burly one between John Gannon and John McPhail, the brown hair one with the long brown raincoat in front of Bernard Shaw and Dennis Shiels, the bald head one between Mike Trusson and Alan Birchenall

I think some of the ladies (after Barry Wagstaff and before Bernard Shaw) were announced as being relatives or descendants of Billy Gillespie.

Is that Mick Henderson between Mike Trusson and Alan Birchenall? It is hard to recognise ex-players who have lost a lot of hair!

The big bloke in the long brown overcoat was according to Bert's memory...Fatty Foulke's grandson.

LSF knows him, I think. He was in our books in 1971 and is in the 1971-72 pre season photo that had 1st teamers, reserves and juniors. Cheers for that Bert.

The ex-player between Geoff Salmons and John Hope is still bugging me!
