Don't forget the amazing goal machine BrewsterCurrent sales:
Vini Souza - wanted to leave, got his wish
Miguel Freckleton - * meh *
Man, you're right. These sales have ruined our season. We've no chance of promotion now that we've sold these two.
Oh wait, we've replaced Souza with Soumaré, but let's write him off before he's even kicked a ball. Crap signing anyway. Obviously.

You're either mentally deranged or a pigDo worry pal, I'm good. Just disappointed in yet another shit shower running out club
Which five or six players haven't we replaced, and which five or six positions in our strongest starting line up available as it stands do you think need replacing, baring in mind we'll be playing 433 now? When have I said the new signings are not good enough? I would just prefer replacements, in place, before a genuine ball is kicked, to give us BLADES, a chance. We are 5/6 players down from the end of the season.
I'm sorry if I do not yet share your blind optimism. If the personnel come on board, I'll be happier

Out of those loans Gilchrist & Raj-Sakyi were dropped and not in the first teams, Holding didn’t play, Clarke was a waste of a squad number and we ended up with Ben’s shitter twin Bob Brereton-Diaz. Only Choudhary was any good and even then very limited and replaced by Soumare.6 loans have returned to their parent clubs. Souza, Moore, Brewster and Anel gone. That makes 10, from a squad that some people said was probably weaker than it could have been. I believe we have signed 4.
So we have 6 players less than we had at the end of last season. Arblaster and Davies are still not ready for selection.
I have no doubt, that we have 11 players available for a 433 formation at 5.30pm next Saturday.
We do not have, IMHO, have a squad, that is available to play 433 for 46 games and that has a chance of being successful.
It is not helpful now, nor has it ever been, to sell some of your better SQUAD players with out replacing, this close to the start of the season.
If you think we have, congratulations.

We are Sheff United!…We don’t do optimism…Are you new in these parts? The level of optimism about United's chances this season, is akin to those at S6 this time last year.
We are miles of it with the current sales and acquisitions.
7 of the squad considered the best available for the playoff final have left (Anel included) 5 of the starting 11 + JRS who wasn't included. From the evidence of last season, 1. 1 new ST at least needed as top league goalscorer of 10 isn't ever going to be enough, Cannon so far underwhelming, 2. CB x at least 2 - without Anel leaves JLT, Bindon and laughable RND, 3. Souza- yes Soumare in but may be good maybe not no evidence, 4. Left side backup? 5, RB whose playing there if Seriki first choice who's backup? And think there is better than him out there 6. Evidence from pre season suggests Burrows needs a lot of coaching to be effective who's his back up? 7. If Hamer leaves who covers that and who's the backup? 8 GK backup and God forbid Cooper leaves then we are truly up shit creek without a canoe let alone a paddle. 9. Right side of forward line doesn't exactly fill me with confidence either if there are injuries. So I see at least 7 possibly 8 could be improved on.Which five or six players haven't we replaced, and which five or six positions in our strongest starting line up available as it stands do you think need replacing, baring in mind we'll be playing 433 now?
I dont understand what your saying because the players you've mentioned were in match day squads and now aren't here so where lower on squad size. Fact. Started or not were down on a chunk of last seasons squad (10)Out of those loans Gilchrist & Raj-Sakyi were dropped and not in the first teams, Holding didn’t play, Clarke was a waste of a squad number and we ended up with Ben’s shitter twin Bob Brereton-Diaz. I’d expect someone that’s followed us for six decades not to be such a wet flannel.
Hey mate don’t dare be negative on here, it’s all pink fluffy clouds and unicorns. Don’t be realistic by saying we’ve actually bought no-one and appointed a manager who celebrates keeping a team up on goal difference. It’s looking fabulous. The level of optimism about United's chances this season, is akin to those at S6 this time last year.

I don't think the amount of players we had at the end of last season is financially sustainable in this division to be honest. The amount of money that lot must have cost is probably frightening when you look at the accounts. When have I said the new signings are not good enough? I would just prefer replacements, in place, before a genuine ball is kicked, to give us BLADES, a chance. We are 5/6 players down from the end of the season.

Maybe go support Liverpool.
Or get to fuck.
Decision is yours.
Seem to be quite a few nowHard to tell with this one but gonna opt for another Fallowfield account to put on ignore, just in case.
One born every minuteSeem to be quite a few now
The press in the friendlies looked good especially against Nice, surprisingly we kept the press intensity going virtually right through to the 90, and without doubt it was working - we picked up lots of ball high up the pitch.I think we'll be alright.
92 points flattered us last season and I don't think this squad looks as strong on paper.
The relegated 3 look far superior, so I don't see us troubling the top two (unless we invest an awful lot of money in August, which seems unlikely).
I've not watched any of pre-season, so I don't really know what to expect on the pitch, but it sounds like we're trying to be more positive in possession and if we can implement a strong high press it will reap rewards at this level (we scored so many goals from it under Hecky, though admittedly with much better players).
I think we'll be between 4th - 8th all year and eventually finish top six.
If the seemingly inevitable fall at the final hurdle re occurs, will that be enough for the new owners?
Final year of substantial parachute payments, if they don't push the boat now it becomes a tougher and more costly task thereafter.
6th and win the playoffsfI think we'll be alright.

Tbh, I'm a bit surprised by the pile on, against the OP. He may be unecessarily gloomy, but he is saying it as he sees it.
Several posters keep saying 'wait until the trander window closes', which is fair enough, but if I had to comment on where we are NOW, I'd have to say we are substantially weaker. Yes this may well change, but the OP does have a valid point.
