Pure 'pay as you play' isn't a real thing. Players may have deals with decent appearance bonuses but they aren't turning up to train etc for free

Something for Tom Cannon to think about in (checks notes) 1,329 days, when his United deal endsIt probably is, albeit at Dronfield Town levels
From listening to others talk about it, it sounds like he’s quite prone to falling in with bad influences. when he was playing regularly for Spurs the club kept a close eye on him but when he was injured and spent time away it seems like he went off the rails because lf having bad people around him that didn’t look out for his best interests. Was it mentioned why his past became an issue later on in his career?
With Ravel he never settled anywhere from the off as Pro. Dele had a solid period of around 5? years playing at a top level for Spurs, in the Champions League and doing well for England. Was he injured and then all the bad things in his childhood surfaced?
We've been suckered many, many times before into offering lucrative and lengthy contracts to has-beens and crocks. Dele Ali is no differentHe won't get a PL club. He needs to drop down for one season. Blues or Disney FC would fit with their exposure. I'd snap your hands off for him. He has had issues off the field, needs a fresh start and no pressure away from the PL. Would be our best midfielder by a country mile
The list of times this sort of gamble on a career resurrection has paid off before anywhere is very, very short.
Unresolved childhood trauma can resurface at any time. It is often completely buried until it isn’t any more, and the timing of when that happens is not predictable. Some sort of trauma can trigger it, but so can something relatively small that would seem inconsequential. Was it mentioned why his past became an issue later on in his career?

100% this - I can vouch for it personally and I don't consider my circumstances to be as bad as Dele'sUnresolved childhood trauma can resurface at any time. Just training there. If London is his home now it's not like he has to move for all different levels of clubsLooks like he's signed for Barnet.
I'm surprised Wilder wasn't after him, ticks all his boxes and might actually have added a little creativity further up the pitch. Still only 30 though, so maybe needs a bit more experience and culture first.

You are probably right. Just seen he's been training at my local football club which is step 4 below the conference...He's not even training with Barnet, simply rented their training facilities, which is a service Barnet offer.
If his head is in the right place I don’t see any reason he could play at championship level, and be an asset. Hes more then capable, as his past record shows. For me, it’s all down to whether his mental health is sorted and whether he has the hunger for playing again. If the answer to both of them questions is ‘yes’, he could be a great pick up , providing he agrees to a sensible contract/wage (just my opinion)You are probably right. Wish him well but it's going to take a lot for him to be a championship level player imo
3 year deal under the Wilder protocols.Missed the whole of 23/24 and 25/26
52 league appearances across the last 5 seasons combined.
Hasn't played more than 707 league minutes in a season since 19/20
He's no longer a footballer
Fair. But still, what else are we doing this season. Gerrim in.Missed the whole of 23/24 and 25/26

I'd be about done with this season if that happenedFair. But still, what else are we doing this season. Gerrim in.
Sounds about right for us then!Missed the whole of 23/24 and 25/26

Exactly what we did with Ravel Morrison. If his head is in the right place I don’t see any reason he could play at championship level, and be an asset. Hes more then capable, as his past record shows. What Deli Ali achieved in the game and what Ravel Morrison achieved is 2 totally different things, that’s why I’d be willing to take a punt on DeliExactly what we did with Ravel Morrison.
