Let’s look at the issues here.

Superb player, at his peak world class. That is still in there.
Fitness wise, he’s been training though not playing so both his fitness and preparedness for a game are non existent, and at best 6 weeks away with reserve game time assuming he doesn’t pick up any injuries as a result of playing again.

However…this isn’t a simple fitness issue. This is a mental one.
Years back there may have been that drive and determination to succeed, to overcome those now well documented problems he’s had from his childhood. But having made lots of money and no doubt wasted a lot of that trying to find ways of putting his past out of mind I suspect all he has done is create even more issues he has to deal with.
This isn’t a physical injury that will repair with rest or an operation.

Wilder can not sort that out, I’m sorry to say he won’t be back playing anywhere close to his previous levels and we would be silly to think otherwise.
Best thing he could do if he has any money left if go to Como…make new friends, leave his past behind and try starting again. Go back to school, learn, find something he loves doing and just do that.
If he’s got money left he can enjoy a peaceful life somewhere nice.

Available on a free.

Worth a trial in my opinion and if fit a £5k play as you play deal until the end of the season if he's up for that.

(Edit: whilst offering minimum wage as a regular salary)
10 years to late

We may be able to help bring him back to his best, but we also may not be able to… it’s a risk. Not one I think would be worth it with such a cohesive group
