I know, but the point still stands, base wage low, appearance with conditions a lot higher.

There's still a player in there, I just hope for him is not too late to finish his career on a high.

Was it mentioned why his past became an issue later on in his career?
With Ravel he never settled anywhere from the off as Pro. Dele had a solid period of around 5? years playing at a top level for Spurs, in the Champions League and doing well for England. Was he injured and then all the bad things in his childhood surfaced?

I may have already posted on this thread but I feel we are all hands to the pump right now. Last thing we want is the circus that will come with such a reclamation project.

Sort of player that Wednesday should sign if they cash in on someone to add numbers.

No expectation on the season and may well come off. No harm done if he doesn’t.

From listening to others talk about it, it sounds like he’s quite prone to falling in with bad influences. when he was playing regularly for Spurs the club kept a close eye on him but when he was injured and spent time away it seems like he went off the rails because lf having bad people around him that didn’t look out for his best interests.

The best version of dele Ali also had a bit of a naughty streak where he had a dirty foul in him and a bit of a short fuse. He fixed that and was never the same player.

And that was some time ago.

He won't get a PL club. He needs to drop down for one season. Blues or Disney FC would fit with their exposure. I'd snap your hands off for him. He has had issues off the field, needs a fresh start and no pressure away from the PL. Would be our best midfielder by a country mile
We've been suckered many, many times before into offering lucrative and lengthy contracts to has-beens and crocks. Dele Ali is no different
We shouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

The list of times this sort of gamble on a career resurrection has paid off before anywhere is very, very short.

Plus whenever we see replays of his Spurs/England goals, we'll all be able to say "yeah he played for Blades as well actually".

Unresolved childhood trauma can resurface at any time. It is often completely buried until it isn’t any more, and the timing of when that happens is not predictable. Some sort of trauma can trigger it, but so can something relatively small that would seem inconsequential.
