Just out of curiosity, where have you read that its SUFC delaying the deal till January?

Why would Leicester not let him go? They don't remotely need him, don't think he's been on their bench all season.
They talk about Leicester wanting to 'review his situation in January' well they can, lending him us for 3 months wouldn't stop that happening.
And if Forest get him, that'll prove it was us delaying the deal.

It's 2+2=4 to me anyway.

Only thing I've read is that Leicester want to evaluate the situation in January.

Forest getting wouldn't prove anything - might be a chance they can afford to pay far more of his wages than us.

So it'd prove Leicester aren't waiting to evaluate the situation in January as long as they get the right offer, why don't our board just say that rather than towing the bullshit line?

But we could have made our top offer to Leicester, who have then said that they'll keep it in consideration until January.

Then Notts Forest come in with a much better offer - Leicester think they might as well cash in for a few months.

Cant see what we could do differently?

We pissed around for too long and its not surprising another club has decided to go after him.

then whatever details your provided with, I doubt you ever will.

I don't think there's any doubt that Adkins wants Hammond on board. However, the issue is clearly one of cost: if, say, Hammond is on £15k per week at Leicester and they want us to pay his wages while he's on loan, we need £15k per week spare. We clearly don't have that sort of money lying around. We might have £5k per week spare in the budget with Murphy gone but Leicester probably don't see the benefit in paying the majority of Hammond's wages while he's in League One.

I don't think there's been anything disingenuous from the board or Adkins on this one. We want him but we've got a limited amount of cash. Quite whether it's a good idea to be shopping in the Premier League on a League One budget is another matter entirely.

A double like.

Either put our hands in our pockets or stop chasing unattainable targets?

A melt down because of a tweet suggesting that another club may be "weighing up" an offer on a player that we're interested in.

Only in S2...

I just hope this ups the fucking flounce count.

Why are we pursuing our interest in just the one player? The Hammond, will he ,won't he saga has been done to death. Move on Nigel, there are plenty more fish in the sea.
Surely our scouting network can come up with at least one viable alternative.

That makes for some quite shocking reading – I'm absolutely amazed that Clubcall still exists. 10p/min from a BT line, with added costs from elsewhere presumably. Who on earth still phones it, when you can get the not-in-the-know rumours for free elsewhere?

I thought that clubcall had closed ages ago.

Just been catching up with this thread and i do have to admit, i've been laughing my bollocks off.

It's clear to me that United have been and still are interested in signing Hammond, my view is that we probably haven't stumped up no where near enough wages to get the move over the line. Why? Only United and Leicester can answer. This is only my view and it might not be true but i can't see it being far wrong 'tbh'. He would be a good addition aswell.

One of the main things you have to look at, is do Leicester want or need Hammond anywhere near their squad and i'm hoping we all know the answer is no to that, so in this respect why won't they want to get rid and take even a small part of the wages off, it doesn't make sense to do anything else. Whatever we pay they don't have to so what we or Leicester have been fucking about at is anyones guess.

Also of note from the thread, some people on here would stick up for McCabe if he was stuck up their wifes arse, it really is laughable at times. Balance should be the order of the day but some struggle to achieve this and end up sticking on the same side of the fence continuously.

And they've all been peeping over the top of that fence clapping endlessly as we slid into the third division and then took up camp here.

Hammond in. Bash at cb

Job's a gud un :)

Except of course it's still wishful thinking :(
That would sort us right out. You're right in that it's wishful thinking though. Surely we need to move on now?

Poster on Blades mad saying he passed his medical at Shirecliffe today.

After several false starts on this I ain't believing a word until I see it officially announced that he has signed but thought I would flag it up in case anyone is remotely interested.
