Former Chelsea man Alex Matos will be allowed to leave Sheffield United in this transfer window if the Blades receive a suitable offer

The AI experiment signings who remain at Bramall Lane - Bulgarian right back Mihail Polendakov, winger Christian Nwachukwu and fellow Nigerian forward Ehije Ukaki - are also free to leave after failing to justify their arrivals as part of the disastrous transfer policy effectively overseen by self-styled data guru James Bord.
My bid is the bus fare from Shoreham Street to Midland station.

Bord's AI modelling is only as good as the data that's going in and the person interpreting it at the other end, both of which must have been bloody terrible.

For all the fuck ups, we might as well have just given Opta a ring and asked for a shortlist of players based on some loose criteria and got some football data from people who have been at it for the last 30 years, not some dodgy American poker player.

James Fraud, if there’s an element of truth in this - this arsehole has set us back years.

Either that or he’s a handy scapegoat for our American brain trust owners.

Either way it’s a lost year due to business dickheads thinking they know better.. I follow football to escape my working life, not to see it mirrored!

Matos is still only 21 and like the other “AI lads” I personally think rather than it being communicated that these are for the here and now, these should be targets for our U21/Development squad with a view of working them into the system and getting them into the 1st team in 2-3 seasons time. Matos should have been out on loan in men’s football at a lower level along with the rest. When you look at the academy although we have been pretty successful in bringing players through to the first team, an AI signing can work like a Peck, where in his case he was dropped from a higher academy and picked up by us and brought into our first team. We would use the AI signings as potentials not immediates

That useless twat Bord was brought in to do one job and fucked us royally - lost us millions.

Pity the next club he gets his grubby mitts on…..

"The Blades no longer use data from Short Circuit, Bord’s company, with Wilder recently confirming that Bord will have “zero influence” on what is happening at United this January after news emerged that he was involved in a consortium looking to buy their arch-rivals Wednesday"

"Bord has since been reported as the preferred bidder to take the Owls out of administration, adding an extra dimension to a remarkable and disastrous chapter in United’s history that will not be looked back on with much fondness by anyone."

Is that the official press release?
:-)

I really hope Bord's bid for the pigs is cleared 😂
We could do a bulk discount if they take them all when he is owner. If its good enough for a side that just missed out on playoffs, his AI will be frothing at the digital mouth about them for a bottom of league 1 side...

You can say what you like about the "AI Signings "

Soumare & Bindon have looked two of our best players the past 10 games

I refuse to judge any player who has not been given a proper chance

Matos as looked half decent it would be silly to sell him unless there is a very good offer like what we paid

From what I've seen of Matos we paid way too much. At best he's a mid-championship level player but we've hardly seen that from him.

We arent getting anything like what we paid for him...which i heard cd have risen to 7m with add ons for appearance targets, promotion etc. And thats not fanciful when u think he came from Chelsea and had already played 20 games for Oxford United in the championship at the age of 20 and they wanted him back.

Id be tempted to keep him if we dont get offered decent money but I suspect CW wants to take a clean broom to the last regime. I wouldn't be surprised if we our touting McGuiness around either as hes another thst we overpaid for who CW doesn freshly seem to rate.

Highly doubt we'll be touting McGuinness until the summer as he cant play for another team this season.
However, i actually think hes a decent squad player, think back to last season when we had only 3 centre halves all season, at least now we have 3 permanent and another in Bindon on loan.. championship is a long season

Nobodys really asking you to judge them, it is what it is.

They have been judged by our people who work in football, and they've been deemed not good enough. I would imagine our youth setup have passed on their feedback, which can't have been glowing.

"last 10 games" is a strange benchmark, considering the players mentioned.

For failing, read not given a chance

Both Godfrey and Barry have been dreadful signings that have cost a lot in loan fees. Absolutely no argument against sending them back.

With the AI lads they are here, and contracted here for at least another full season. I think it would make more sense to ship them all out on loan and see how they develop in a different environment playing competitive, men’s football and then make the decision on them in the summer.

Matos is another who would benefit from a loan spell away from the club, his pedigree suggests there is a player in there but he hasn’t hit the ground running here.

WOW let it go boards and managers sign players that don't work every season sometimes without AI remember Callum Robinson, Jamie Shackleton, Grbic, brewster, Oliver Burke, ravel Morrison, hussey, Jack rodwell, Nathan thomas, Mason holgate, at least with AI you can make the excuse that you haven't really seen them play, those mentioned above were scouted with the naked eye and broke our record transfer fee twice and others cost millions in wages
