The 93 day rule...

It's not a red herring. He's Nigel's main target.

That approach seems highly suspect – we currently have 3 fit central midfielders of patchy form, and are coming off the back of 3 disappointing results. We clearly need a win Saturday to get us back on the right path – waiting till Monday (which would mean the Bradford game is covered) doesn't help our needs at this moment. By Dec 28th we'll hopefully have a fit Coutts and less unfit Wallace to add to the mix.

This Dan Burn and Dean Hammond rumour reminds me of the 3 months worth of flirting that Clough did with O'Grady which didn't end well. I hope Adkins doesn't fall in to the same trap.

Already seems that Adkins is covering his back (he was at the Hull/Swansea match - doesn't take a genius to work out who he was watching).

I bloody hope so. I'd even say Maguire would be a better option than Burn since he knows the club and a lot of the players here already.

Agreed. Maguire would be easier to integrate into the back 4.

The only plus side side of Burn would be that he has been getting some 1st team football.

The old Bladey Blade "knows the club" eh?

Ol' Big Nose for Manager; Dinosaur Dave for Director of Hoofball; Quickfix Mickey to answer the phone; Edna, who died 10 years ago, for tea lady...

Bringemback...Bringemallback...

Can't see Harry fixing the issue we have with a lack of pace or leadership at centre half tbh, unless we're going for depth and he's replacing Edgar which I can't see.

93 day rule. How come nobody mentioned this when they were crowing about how it didn't matter that we didn't get our targets during the transfer window because we could get them a mere week later? Same old year after year.

Next thing you know the loan window will have closed, but it won't matter because we can get them in January.

Where did you get a copy of the secret script from - that's confidential, I'll have you know!

It's also very well-worn and rather tiresome. It keeps them amused until the Crayola Man arrives, I suppose..

Dean Hammond could become the latest Albion player to leave for Sheffield United.

The Championship under-achievers have been monitoring Hammond during the first half of the season and they are likely to move for him now that the Seagulls are making their skipper available for transfer.

Former Albion assistant and Sheffield United legend Bob Booker scouts for the Blades.

He has been at Withdean several times, with specific instructions to assess a player he already knew well from his time at the club.

Blades boss Bryan Robson is keen to overhaul the Sheffield squad relegated from the Premiership last season under his predecessor Neil Warnock and now labouring in the bottom half of the Championship following last Saturday's defeat in the steel city derby against Sheffield Wednesday.

Midfielder Hammond, 24, fits the bill according to a Bramall Lane insider and may be about to follow the same path to Yorkshire as another former Albion captain, Danny Cullip, and ex-Seagulls striker Colin Kazim-Richards.

Hammond wants to stay with Albion but has refused to sign a new contract until they convince him they are serious about trying to get promotion back into the Championship from League One.

He is entitled to a Bosman free transfer at the end of the season when his current deal expires, so Albion want to cash in on him while they can during the rest of the January transfer window.

They have already rejected a bid for Hammond earlier this month from the Championship's bottom club, Colchester.

Meanwhile, Albion are still expected to make a move for Rochdale forward Glenn Murray before the window closes.

Three months?

More like 7 fecking years! :D

Only the blades can drag out a potential loan transfer this long. Getting tiresome now.

While that appears to be the case with us there are a lot of factors in bringing someone in even on loan so it seems, but surely if the player is the number one target and the best that we can get then it may turn out worthwhile.

Bored.
Has any more light been shed on harry returning? The way nige was been quizzed on radio pig,he no way ruled out the possibility of it,or anyone on the field at that present game.

Agreed but the length of this rumbled on far and is likely to rumble on for is unacceptable. Why don't we pursue our number 2 target if our number 1 target is not available and so on? Surely we have a prioritised list of targets? I really don't get what goes on behind the scenes at our club, particularly when it comes to obtaining players.

Ziggy, I can only think that there must be strong signals coming from the player that he wants to join us. If it was 50/50 likely to happen then I too think we would have probably moved on.

Just had an e-mail from a Leicester pal who says the rumour is strong at their end. 32 year old midfielder with some quality.

Hope you are right . I suppose the method in Adkins madness is that this season , no team is going to run away with the league , as it is full of teams , all being much of a muchness , and top / bottom or where ever your league postion , they can beat each other.

May sound daft but the first priority is not to get into a mid table / relegation battle , and push on from there .

Lets hope the coming of any saviour player , doesnt get injured , loss of form , and hits the ground running, and beds in from day one .

Also we have to remember they / will be loan not permanent player (s) , which at this moment in time , will suit us , whether we get promotion or not . This season is definatley a transition period , and if we acheive promotion it is a bonus IMO .
