Ha ...... sound great, perfect even ...... however, I believe he's over 5ft 4in tall and can look after himself in a "thuggish" midfield so regrettably, he won't fit into our slow, weak, diminutive midfield model
UTB & FTP

You seem to forget one thing
.. Our current Manager didn't put the current midfield together.

If he comes in, who drops out of the side?

Ultimately it will be Bash to lose out. Its very easy to drop players when we are shite but very difficult when we play well.

Glad it's up to NA to sort as he is not afraid to make important decisions which was proved my leaving out the 'injured' J. Mc. Today.

HAMMOND HEADING TO BLADES

Leicester City midfielder Dean Hammond is set to join League 1 side Sheffield United on loan, according to the Daily Mirror.

The 32-year-old played a key role in Leicester's promotion campaign in 2013/14, but made just 12 appearances last term.

Use the above mentioned as impact subs,if,and when needed. (Bradford last Sunday)

I don't think Jose would be happy with being used for impact so reckon he would move on. Reed however would be ideal but we have Scoogs who is very similar to Reed.
Securing Hammond is the main objective. If he can offer more in midfield then our defence would improve as well.

A three man midfield will be the way to go if we sign him. Basham, Hammond and Baxter.

If we could land him it would be a real coup but there is always half a chance he could end up in the championship I reckon.

I do think he will finish up at BDTBL , what we have to do , is pay the going rate in salary for him , with a view to sign him permanently, on a contract , that is amicable to both parties . One man doesn't make a team , but in this case he could galvanise it . If / when he does come , credit to Adkins and the board.

If he doesn't arrive , then a post mortem will start , of the clubs , apparant lack of ambition .

What we have to remember and take on board , we are in league 1 , and do not have any pulling power . The only thing in football that counts , is that money talks.

He is a leader that is for sure.

Pitty we can't land Burn as well.

If Burn doesn't sign but Hammond does, could Hammond take over the Bash spot in the middle with Bash moving to CB?

That would be my plan, however maybe having Hammond and Basham in the middle will let us play Done and Adams wide. Would much prefer Basham at the back though, although he had a good game yesterday.

Reed however would be ideal but we have Scoogs who is very similar to Reed.

Reed is a young improving player with potential to be a very very good player. Scougall is as good now as he is ever going to be and that's not good enough.

At 22 you have already decided he is at his peak? Jesus, people around here just make things up to suit whatever bullshit agenda they're pushing at the time.

Scougall is now what? sixth, seventh choice for Central midfield? Come on he's done here that is obvious.

I think it has more to do with that he doesn't fit the system we're currently playing. Needs to be sent on loan, esp now Coutts is back and hopefully Hammond comes in on Monday

Maybe but if he goes out on loan a couple of times and all goes as we want it too here and we are in The Championship next season then I am afraid I don't think Scougall is ever going to be that level.

While I'd never class Scougall as a luxury player, he is the type that you can only afford to have one of in your team and even then he's got to perform better than he currently is.
If that makes any sense at all?

He was when he first joined us. Certainly had a good game when he scored at Wembley. Strange to write a lad off who has shown something to us already.

I still think Scoogs has a future with us. He is a young lad with still a lot to learn. It would be daft to ship him out. The same goes for M. MCnulty. Players with potential at this age are worth keeping on the books.
They are both young, quick and green. A bit like Che wouldn't you say ?
