Well done board, should have been done weeks ago but you know what they say - better late than never!

Not sure what the hold up was, and we will never know if his presence on the pitch would have changed a few results (Bury at home, Port Vale and Oldham away spring to mind), but at least we have him for now.

Most urgent role to fill.

Keeper next I hope.

Well done Board and Manager. Sometimes things take time, Leicester City have new manager for example and he has to take stock.

Quality unquestionably, but must lack 1st team fitness.

Posted similar sentiments in the other thread, but I think we need to calm the fuck down.
This is player who hasn't kicked a ball in a first team match all season, and only played 12 matches the season before. He's was a Championship level player who's been inactive for a couple of vital years given his age. I think he'll be a benefit to us and I'm glad he's signed but it's not like we've signed a superstar at this level who's going to rip League one a new 'un.

Also, it's got to be great odds that he'll do his knee after about 10 minutes.

Like Billy you mean...?
This is SUFC and our fans like nothing better than to set ridiculous expectations and then hammer those that don't meet them.
Just saying keep the expectations realistic.

Speaking of Billy, I think he's played really well, but he's not ripped the league a new 'un so far. His goal tally should have been higher looking back at the really good chances he's gotten himself.

Flatulant , stop being full of wind . This game is about confidence . Forget the blokes age , we want someone who can gel us together in midfield and he is the man.

If he doesnt we are well and truly fucked . The wages he is on he should also beable to play goalkeeper , midfield , and attack all in one . If he has a blinder tonight , i will call him Roy Race.

I don't get the point you are making. Are you suggesting he is confident having not played much for the past two years? Or that the age of a player and the effect on his performances isn't tangible?

Out of genuine interest, what are he wages?

i really, really hope that we don't revert back to a 4-4-2 now that adkins has got in his CM of choice, and i also really hope that this isn't an excuse to start playing basham at centre back in lieu of an actual centre back

So if the rumours were true about Adkins wanting Hammond ages ago, then where have they been discussing this specific transfer? Now i'm not ITK but surely there can't be that much paperwork or stuff to talk about to make the transfer last this long. He was never going to get in the Leicester side anyway so what could the reasons be? any answers welcomed.

Again, i'll give the bloke a chance as each player deserves that but early indications are he could be a valuable asset to us, i make this assertion just on the fact how long Adkins has wanted him and not on how many times i've seen him play, good luck to him.

.
Leicester didn't want a loan.
Leicester wanted only a loan, but not with a view to a permanent deal which we favored.
Leicester wanted us to pay more towards his wages than we could/wanted to.
Leicester wanted more of a loan fee than we wanted to pay.
Leicester had injuries so killed the deal until they'd cleared up and there was no longer a risk on their side.
Hammond thought there were better options in for him ie Forest and only accepted the deal once that had definitely gone.

There's 6 to get you going.

I think he is a player who will instill confidence in the other players , and the age thing will not matter . ( first 6 yards in his head ) . Blokes in Leicester say circa £23k plus win bonus . Cannot see him taking a drop to come to the lane . He doesn't love us that much . Could it be we pay £3k and LC pay £20k , no idea , but a good signing .

After getting over the giddy spell , feet on ground time and calm the fuck down , as you rightly say.
