Player Suggestion David Brooks

If Brooks signed, it would either be as a right or left-half, the way he currently plays for Bournemouth or a second striker. Not the 'Duffy' role.

There are other players to consider rather than the v.expensive and injury prone Brooksy..............eg what's the Duffmeister up to at the mo?

Buendia would be unreal. But again, I don't think Norwich would do a loan to buy when they're going for promotion.

I demand an appeal!

As I’m sure you’re aware, appeals can be lodged with the Court of Arbitration for Sports Transfer Rumours and Tier Explanations (CASTRATE). As I understand it, there is quite a lot on the docket for CASTRATE, what with the explosion of bullshit transfer rumours this year, but a couple of spaces may open up to hear the appeal in January.

I demand an appeal now though!

If Man Utd are going to pay that sort of money for him then they must be very desperate.

Well it looks as though they're going to pay it for Sarr instead.

I still don't think Brooks to Utd is likely or even possible but his suitors seem to be falling away - Spurs now have Bale and Man Utd are likely to land Sarr. Who else was apparently in for him?

That’s not strictly true is it. I believe that finances were a factor in missing out on Matty Cash, for instance.

Yeah but, that’s not strictly true, is it? Choosing not to buy something because you think the price is too high is different from not being able to afford it.
Anyway, my original point was that not one of us fans knows what our budget is, yet that doesn’t stop people from saying who we definitely can or can’t afford.

Not sure why any EFL side would sell to a PL side today (unless their desperate). Depends if they can afford hold their nerve.

After 11pm tonight, the likes of Brooks, Cantwell, Buendia etc will all surely become hotter commodities because they will be the best bets in a much smaller market.

So if I’m Norwich, I’m holding onto their big hitters and hopefully flog one on for inflated money to a desperate PL club next week and still have a week to spend it before they need to play another game.

Not that it really matters but I'm sure he's started their last few games.
He hasn't.

Both him and Coutts came on as subs on Saturday when they lost 2-1

I know this because the son of a friend is on the books at Fleetwood and I always look to see if he's getting a game. Unfortunately he didn't even make the bench on Saturday.

Generally, Championship clubs are more desperate for cash than the PL are for players. PL clubs would hold out for prices to drop to what they want to pay, knowing that these clubs are skint (Bournemouth excepted).

Why can the fans see we need a no 10 like Brooks but CW and the board can't

I don't recall ever seeing Brooks have a good game at #10. He's always played better either wide right or as a second striker

Unless CW has a change of heart and fundamentally changes formation (unlikely IMO), Brooks would have to pay either either RCM or off a #9 (McB or Brewster)

I'd be surprised if it happened. This window has shown that in a lot of cases, championship clubs aren't offering knockdown rates due to covid but rather upping the prices. Plus I would imagine Bournemouth aren't necessarily desperate for money either what with parachute payments and sales they've already made.. It's early days but they're doing alright and could easily be looking at an immediate return to the prem so the last thing they'll want to do is flog off the remaining players they have that could get make that happen.

If he goes, I'm guessing either for absolutely stupid money that they'd be daft turning down or because they know he's injury prone and figure it's best to cash in while the price is semi decent. A loan would make absoluetly zero sense from their perspective.

Agree on the whole- which is why I said if they could afford to hold out. Think Bournemouth and Norwich are two clubs with desirable assets that could afford to. Probably others; Brentford, Watford, etc.

And of course, the pigs who’ll be turning down multi million pound offers for Bannan and Hoghider for fun.

I said not only Brooks

My mistake should have said played in the last few games not started.
