Danny Ward

Hi Danny, Sheffield is an awful place, it’s rumoured that in 2022 the city council outlawed being Welsh and seen on the streets after 4pm, hence why we’ve not seen RND or Davies play for a while.

Now although the prince and club are trying to resolve these matters at their usual “rapid” pace (*see fully built new cat A academy and training building that has a lovely mezzanine balcony) as fans we’re unsure the ruling will be overturned. I’m sure you understand.

Cardiff seems like the better option. It’s not that we don’t want you it’s the fact we wouldn’t want to get in the way of a progressive career move for yourself and family.

Cheers,
Thoughtful Fans.

For all the professional goalkeepers on the world we are "after" a has been and a third choice. If true, our recruiting teams need replacing. There HAS to be a better option out there. I don't care we are bottom of the league is some excuse, we ARE an attractive club but we fish in the pet store!! Does my head in.

Hopefully this is the sort of bait you throw to well known journos to tell Schmeichel not to be a greedy fucker.

If he’s on 4K a week in Belgium as reported then his agent can fuck off if he’s angling for something astronomical.

You can just see the grubby little cunt saying he’s well worth 40k per week if he’s seen as a PL player knowing very well he’s getting his boy just a tenth of that over in Belgium.

Probably thinks we’re desperate and so we’ve called their bluff.

This is what I hope anyway!

Unfortunately, I suspect that under the terms of the Thomas deal, we don’t have an option to terminate his season long loan, without agreement from Leicester. So I’m guessing that this is our only option to swap Thomas for Danny Ward. Like it or not Wilder has to wheel & deal to strengthen the squad overall. I doubt he has any new money to play with.

I think this will happen. I think we will go for VJ in the summer.

Sending Thomas back and bringing Ward is does NOT strengthen our squad in any way, shape or form...

CW was full of praise for Thomas, in the interview after yesterday's game, so I am not sure that he is being sent back.

We’ve gone from links with seasoned Danish International Goalkeeper seasoned Brazilian International Striker to an out of sell by date Welsh crap goalie
Only United

Every player we sign or are linked with, you need to think "skint". We have fuck all money and our owner wants out.

Or, maybe The Press are generally full of shit and you shouldn't take click bait articles as an indication it's happening?

If anyone thought Firmino was a genuine target for us, then I'm not sure you can really blame anyone else for your own stupidity when it doesn't happen.
Newsflash: We're also not signing Jack Clarke for £15M either.

Is this Chris trying to pull off a cheap mans Arteta

Look Wes, you're great. you know I think the world of you, but I am going to bring in Danny Ward from Leicester. He's fresh, not had a game in a while but this really is what I truly think of you.

Lots of love, Chris

Absolutely hideous signing if it comes off. Ward, Wes and Davies as your goalkeeping choices, all bog average Championship keepers at best and that's where we're heading with any of them marshalling the defence.

Surely to god there's a decent one kicking around the Championship who we can get hold of and would want to come, not one who has been relegated to third choice after relegation.

Nicholls at Huddersfield?

I’m genuinely not sure why people are hating on the lad like this

It’s not his fault we are possibly interested

Is he another Ned or Simon or a Deano, no he isn’t

But realistically who are we getting at this point

Theres a very good one just down the road at the NYS who would probably jump at the chance of playing for us for a few good years. Problem is, is isn't free and the Millers would want us to pay for him, the cheeky bastards.

Get it paid United and get a decent keeper in who will be the cornerstone of our defence for many years. Sometimes you have to take the longer view and actually invest in something that will bring you value for a good few years rather than just going for the cheap fix.

Remains quite an achievement to spend three of the last five years in the Prem and be as broke and lacking in any real planning infrastructure as we are.
Exactly this. We even managed to get ourselves in a transfer embargo and be on the brink of administration despite not spending any money. It's impressively incompetent, really.

I thought he was a big Chesterfield fan.

Which (realistic) GK would you like to see Wes replaced by?

I don't know what our budget is so can't really answer that. However, if the extent of that budget is Danny Ward to replace Wes then I would stick with Wes.

I live in Leicester and my LCFC supporting mates are still banging on about how poor he was for them last season, how he started off as their No1 after Schmeichel left but performances were so shocking that he was replaced halfway through by Iversen, (sound familiar?) and that he is now their third choice. They are literally pissing themselves at the suggestion we are interested.

I thought the budget was decent the way the club has been talking.

Money spent to be recouped in the summer if down and 3 new signings to come straight into the 11. That's not cheap.
