Doubt he figures in Liverpools plans. IF he's fully fit might a loan move benefit us,Liverpool and the player? Unrealistic?

Sure I read old Kloppy seemed to like him as he ran around a bit more than Sturridge and suited their style of play.

Despite injury I think he'd still fancy himself as a premier league player - could see a return to Burnley if he hadn't gone all billy big bollox when he left. and burned a few bridges.

Mentioned him in conversation just the other day chatting about the upcoming Championship season, bit of a forgotten striker due to his injuries and I said if a Championship club could get him on loan then they'd end up top 6 at least.

Be interesting to see what happens with him.

Very interesting shout, He's the type of player Liverpool will want to loan out for 6 months to regain fitness.I think his time there is over though if I'm honest As good as a player as he is Clubs like Liverpool don't hang around for the likes of Danny Ings, he's probably 5/6 in line now

Very good player. He had a terrific partnership with Sam Vokes. We didn't know how good the latter was going to be when we had him on loan, did we? Was it Micky Adams who brought him in? I imagine he's back at Burnley now?

about as much chance

Interesting that you rate Ings up there with the best in the world given he's barely kicked a ball in 2 years and needs to move from Liverpool for first team football to allow Klopp to decide whether he features or is sold. May be unrealistic but I don't think anything like as such as you.

As much as I'd love to think we'd be interested. I'd imagine he'd be on astromical wages at Liverpool, and wouldn't want to drop to a bottom half championship team

He will be on a huge wedge and fancy himself as a premier league player.

Could see him going back to Burnley or somewhere similar should Klopp look to let him go.

Liverpool would probably have to cough up a good chunk of his wages if he went on loan anywhere outside the Prem. He probably is unattainable, but like many suggestions in the rumours section,it's just talking points and thoughts.

more chance of getting Danny la rue..
if we offered to pay 50% of his wages what would that be? £30k??
on a loan signing?
what would that do for dressing room harmony?
billy big bollox tips up for 6 months on treble/quadruple the wedge our lads who got us here are on?
I do think we need a couple of big signings to supplement the hungry younger lads we have brought in, but don't think providing a showcase is the right way forward.
if we do pay big wages, let it be on a permanent deal please

Ings is on >£85k a week. Does that answer the question about whether signing him id realisitic?

A member of the management team at Burnley.

Ah. He wouldn't have any motive in bigging up Liverpools wage structure to defend Burnleys decision to sell. Don't forget Ings only went on a tribunal fee of about £6m. Hardly earth shattering was it.

Believe what you want - makes no odds to me.

I know Ings went for about £6m. I don't know how much he earns. You claim to. No problem.
Did you think his relatively low transfer fee might make him a bit more attainable, and that it might make 85k a week a bit unrealistic?

I have to say, I am firmly in the ban camp when it comes to "player suggestion" and this thread epitomises why. Danny Ings might not have had a prolific time at Liverpool, but if he can't win over Klopp he is going to be looking for a move in the Prem.

His salary is a million miles away from SUFC levels, this is complete fantasy. However I do know a Tuna salesman who collects expensive non prolific strikers, so he may come to Sheffield after all!

Ings was a 'free' transfer, the fee was a tribunal fee, as you pointed out. His value as a player at the time would have surely exceeded £10m.

Players who allow their contracts run down typically expect to see their wages inflated as a result of the money they have saved the club in initial fees.

You obviously disagree (which of course you're entitled to) but IMHO there are lots of reasons why I don't think Ings is a realistic target for Utd (salary, player's desire to stay in the Prem, lots of other, higher placed and richer clubs ahead of Utd in the queue to sign him etc) although his previous transfer fee isn't one of them as I dont think that's relevant.
