Is there any reason we’re on the betting list or is just a case of Sky Bet picking random clubs. Definitely a no from me anyway.

Apparently on £150k p/w at Liverpool, he’d want minimum £60k and really is the opposite of our recruitment strategy, no thanks!

Can be linked with someone who hasn’t had an Injury record worse than James Wallace?

A little reminder for some of our fans.

We will need to score about 40 goals to have a chance of staying in the division.

That's going to take, luck, judgement, flukes, a little help from VAR and possibly EXPERIENCE.

He wouldn't my one of my initial picks, but sometimes beggars can't be choosers - we are going to need someone and Sturridge knows where the net is.

Appearing on a betting list does not warrant an 'Incoming?'.

There'll be nothing in this, they just want our daft #twitterblades to see it and lump on....

Joking apart....he’s a class player and a goal scorer when fit.
Could he get fit and stay fit with us? Possibly.
Would Wilder get the best from him? Probably.
Would he take say a one year contract on 50k a week? Very unlikely.

Would his best be good enough to survive and thrive in a Wilder team? IMHO no. I don’t think the lad has the will or the heart for a fight, and certainly not to do the work needed to get him fit enough to do the job required of a Wilder player.
And just to be clear to those who think I’m saying he's not good enough for United, I’m not. I’m saying he hasn’t got the work ethic and desire to succeed at a club where our current biggest strengths in the premier league will be heart, desire and work rate. We will lack the quality to play teams off the park every week so out running the opponents will still be our main goal.
Sturridge just won’t. He doesn’t need to. He’s made his money, won his medals, got his caps, and looks like a player going through the motions with a bit of a chip on his shoulder.

He's awful. Remember watching Liverpool a few weeks back, he's not played regularly for ages, shots flying everywhere, wouldn't pass at all, and was expecting Mo Salah to square it across to him when Salah was one on one with the keeper. Do me a lemon.

If he'd come for £10k a week I'd take the risk, on his wage he can fuck off to the MLS or Villa or some other club that likes to spend too much money in the Championship.

Unrealistic rumour. If it wasn’t he would be a high calibre addition. The only problem with him is that he seems to be made of candy floss. Can’t be relied on to stay fit.

I think his attitude and fitness is enough reason Wilder would not look at him. That is before we even consider the wages he would want.

As an aside surely Rangers and Australian clubs can't compete?
Don't know why Leicester would want him, they must be able to do better.
He must be going to the US they pay for anybody.

Nah, he'll be avoiding the Blades - His agent doesn't want him working hard and getting fit to play a full season! Why would he, he can sit at Liverpool on the bench and get a champions league medal by not playing.

Been released by Liverpool.

A few mates have said they’ve heard it from reliable source we’re looking at signing him. Surely wages would be silly money for us?!

Done fuck all for years, injury prone ? Big wages, big ego. The type of signing you see teams lumbered with for the following years when/if they go down.

Supposed to ben about £65K per week.....29 years old.....offer him a 3-year deal at £50K per week, works out at £7.8m.....absolute steal....gerrim signed!

I would imagine however we would be behind the likes of Burnley, Watford, Leicester, Southampton, Palace & Brighton for his signature....

Sturridge and Carol up front next season, I'm calling it.

Get ready for
"injury prone" but mcgoldrick is also one if by that logic

Anyone who would be against a quality player like Sturridge coming to our club needs to get a grip.

We are in the Premier League and whether we like it or not wages are going to up a lot it is a fact.

Personally I could not care less what we pay them as long as we invest in quality.

He could be next seasons Didzy for us I would be buzzing to see such a quality player at the lane.
