You know it’s not me saying this is a misunderstanding don't you? With how the girls father talked so positively of Greenwood after his arrest, possibly after seeing the money disappear from his and his daughters future, my opinion is I wouldn’t at all be surprised if this doesn’t getting sorted behind the scenes and the girl then says they were messing in the video and it’s a misunderstanding and so no further action. The video is damning but only if the girl sticks by the content and doesn’t go down a different path.

The father is a scumbag btw, I think we would have all reacted differently.

Got the last 10 or 15 mins for the U19’s tonight. Looked a lot bigger than the other players on the pitch. Won a couple of fouls and missed a half chance header from close to goal.

This would be surprising.

Not shooting the messenger but he's one of only 4 fit strikers and the season starts in little over a week.

Selling up and coming young players to a team who are about the same size that you'd hope to pass in the next 2 years isn't the way to go IMHO though appreciate at some point bills have to be paid.

Might be alone on this but I thought Jebbo looked alright tonight. He’ll be so much better when he learns how to use his body properly and very much a work in progress still but I think he made sense to start up top against those defenders and we looked like less of a threat after he went off.

It's very difficult to judge the forward players when the midfield behind them are playing like such wankers.

Anything created for Jebbison or N'Diaye was pretty much self made or made between themselves. I can't think of one moment when they were given any credible service from the midfield. But then again I can't remember any assistance the midfield gave the defence either.

He did alright. I'd like to see him on a day when he isn't living off scraps.

You are pretty much alone, he was poor.

Exactly

Jebbo is young and needs regular match time to develop, I think if McBurnie is cleared and ready to play by the end of September then we send Jebbo on loan to League One till January and then assess from there. McBurnie may have been disappointing last season but I still think given decent service he'll do well in this league, staying fit has been his biggest issue over the last 18 months.

We always seem to start the season with some joke frontline, presumably picked for chuckles.

One year it was Michael fucking Higdon. Last season it was the Dynamic Duo of Burke and Mousset. This time around it's Daniel Jebbison leading the line. He's not ready. Not remotely.

He very rarely made a run across the defenders into space. He looked so flat footed at times, compared to N'diaye who looked lively and tried to make things happen. Jury's still out but I'm not sure he has what it takes at this level.
Sadly, I'd have to agree.

I'd rather see McBurnie out on loan!

Wasn't his worst performance for us. I'd go as far as saying it was one of his better ones.

Do you mean end of August? That’s the deadline isn’t it?

Thought he had come on quite a bit from last season but still a way to go before he is really ready for first team. Thought Ndaiye looked class but playing with no support at all. Think he could be really big for us this season. Watford defenders were fouling (or trying to ) all the time as they were frustrated they just couldn't get the ball off him. Hope that refs will give him proper protection.

I do lean towards agreeing. I'm starting to realise he's definitely going to be a very good player, but in order to realise his potential I think he needs regular game time.
As you say, to work out his game.

Is our club, at this moment, the best place for that? I think probably not. I don't think we have the time to develop someone into that lone striker role.
This season could be our last realistic shot at promotion for a while, with parachute payments drying up and a lot of the squad reaching the end of their cycle with us.

I've said a few times (and it's an unpopular opinion) that I'd sign Lewis Grabban. I think we need an experienced link man at the top of the park who can bring our 10s into play and have positional awareness to finish off chances.
Billy Sharp is that guy, but we need to halve his load.
That signing (if our budget won't allow for anything better) and Jebbison loaned out until January would be my sort of preference.

If Ndiaye can sort his finishing out he’ll be too good for the championship

If he can build on the form he showed towards the end of last season, I think he can be one of the best players in the league.

I do wonder how he’ll cope without MGW alongside him though.
I think he’ll be fine he can create for himself he did so against Watford even though we were playing badly. If he could improve his finishing he’d get 10 plus easily
