Scary.

He is 18 for gods sake. He knocks seasoned pro defenders about like they’re toddlers.

He’s quick, switched on positionally and tactically, aggressive, got a great touch and has plenty of self belief.

I worry we won’t have him for too long, so let’s enjoy him while we can. What a talent.
Please God can we just keep our outstanding youngsters for once.... please

You forgot Didzy.......

I didn't forget him, just think he's separate to the strikers because he has a different role, definitely capable though considering his numbers in the Prem last season in a dogshit environment.

This forum is a great reminder that people genuinely believe they know better than the coaches who watch the players train every day, based on less than 2 hours football watched on telly

Its a great move for him. If he rips it up there then he will return as hot property and prem scouts may come sniffing around. I would hope thats its only until Jan or season with a recall option in Jan.

He needs regular football in a competitive league environment in order to develop further. Obv SJ cant give him that at the moment so this is a win for both parties as long as he is slated to be a regular starter.

I'd rather send out Burke and keep Jebbo, no brainer.

Not though really is it? He’s currently behind, Sharp, McBurnie, Brewster and even McGoldrick if he’s played advanced. Burke on the other hand seems to be No1 choice for wide forward as much as none of us like that reality

That’ll be dependant on being in the prem I think. We’ve stood strong this summer but that becomes harder the longer we’re outside the top flight and the financial benefits that come with it.

I'm not quite sure that loading expectation on a lad just 18 is justified or beneficial for his development. A handful of 1st team games, showing a bit of promise and potential is not the basis to expect a full championship from him, it's a demanding season and he wouldn't get that. The odd start and minutes from the bench at best. He needs lower level minutes and starts at this stage. If he goes to Sunderland and starts 20 games and more minutes from the bench it will have been a success.

Anywhere between 10-15 goals for jebbison at league one level would represent and incredibly successful loan and would likely secure him championship football next season.

Pardon me but my orifice and it’s contents is of no concern to you Edward

Headers won is also a reflection on the style of play, if we continuously lump it up it’s fair to say he will win some, maybe unchallenged or as referenced from oppo’s corners.

That link is 2 years old.
A more relevant stat, given that games are won with goals not headers is in 2 seasons (59 games) he has scored 3 goals with his napper.

Joe Willock also scored 3 headers - in 14 games for Newcastle on loan in 4 months

59 games, 7 goals, 3 headers

That’s 1:20

Reckon Warwick Davis could manage that

I think the irony of loaning Jebbison out to League One, is that we probably would have sought a Championship loan out if we were PL.

However, Im all for Jebbo loan as long as we have a recall clause, and we can recall him at any moment, not just in the Transfer Windows

I thought rules stipulated you can only recall during transfer windows. Might be wrong tho.

Wonder if he'll be included in the 'behind closed doors' game later today? If he does and plays a blinder then that would create a re-think from SJ.

It all makes sense , send our best prospect to Sunderland and keep boy blunder ffs

Better win against Brum !

Isn't it better for DJ to go somewhere he is more likely to play regularly? We're stacked with strikers/forwards and he is unlikely to get the minutes he wants/is ready for. I think league one is a good level for him this season.

I agree, especially if there is a possible January recall.

I really don't think Sunderland is the best destination though, I think he'd better off with the likes of Oxford or Lincoln or Crewe. Assuming some of those teams actually wanted him.

What's up with everybody , just play him in our team , he's good enough , scored against Everton , doesn't get bullied is strong enough , has good vision , is good in the air , yer lets send him to Sunderland , let just hope he doesn't get injured eh !

Why on earth are we so desperate to loan out a tall , muscular , fit , confident young man who looks to me like he's got far more about him than a lot of our other strikers ever regulary show.
I know that our MF is poor but the lack of movement from Brewster & McDaftie is not helping , Moose is a crock , Burke is a Berk and Didsy & Sharp are still the most consistent performers , which is embarrassing for the Club , given their age + the amount of money wasted since May 2019 trying to replace them.
The whole half-dozen add up to feck-all in terms of goals or goal-threat.
FOR GOODNESS SAKE GIVE JEBBO A GO - HE CANT POSSIBLY BE ANY WORSE !

I'm not going to directly compare Jebbo and McBurnie in terms of abilities. I can't. I've seen one play around 5 games at a senior level. And one play over 10 times that.

What I will say is that McBurnie's finishing is much better than what we saw in the Premier League. He's also deceptively fast and his heading is quite good too.

I think what you did in the final paragraph was fairly sneaky. We are currently in the Championship. For his two clubs at this level he scored 22 in 58 and 9 in 17. Forget the Premier League. We are in the Championship. I want a striker who has proven to be able to score at this level when he gets service. Ollie McBurnie is that player.

You had people wanking themselves crazy about the thought of Mitrovic joining us due to the Slav connections. His scoring record in the Premier League is broadly the same as McBurnie's. And his Championship record is pretty much the same too.

Jebbison (I'm confident) will end up a very good striker. I just can't fathom why people would compare his potential to McBurnie's proven ability at this level. If you had to put your house on one scoring more this season, I'd be fascinated by which people would go with Jebbison.
They should be playing different positions in a 2-man strike force and so can be a formidable duo

I still believe that Billy does offer something in terms of goals or goal threat, but I am astonished that Jebbinson has not featured this season, very frustrating to see the team sheets before each game. Slav must have his reasons and I trust him to get it sorted, although I think there’s got to be a fair number of new faces in before the deadline if it’s going to be sooner rather than later.

Have you got any examples? The stats don't back that up at all.
These are all the players who have scored 20+ over the last 5 seasons. Pretty much all of them have scored a lot of goals over a number of seasons in the Championship, or have ended up relatively solid strikers for bottom-half Prem teams.

Feck me , I remember when there was talk of us being interested in Ivan Toney.
I was all for it , for around £10m I think it was (which Brentford happily paid).
But loads on here said "we're premiership , he's not all that"
Well , he's pissed on Watkins achievements at Brentford - that's Watkins who made Brentford £33m.
Feck me , I wish we had Brentford's scouts & transfer committee.
Ours is just shit when it comes to strikers.

I'm struggling to understand what some people see when they're watching a game. As you say, great prospect, but he's so raw. Doesn't have the decision making/football brain as yet. Would greatly benefit from a 6 month loan somewhere and a run of games.

I worry that fans seem to expect him to just suddenly be a top class striker without getting the necessary experience.

Give Sharp and McBurnie are still injured, I suspect he might not get the chance to go out.

But then again, Mousset had a decent 45 minutes in a pre-season friendly against Doncaster and suddenly he's Thierry Henry
Moosefat is Thierry Henry ............ that aged well ..........pity his legs are made of biscuits

He will play many games in the Premier League one day and I hope it’s with us, he should not be going anywhere on loan....

If Burke was a horse he would run round backwards without a jockey.
Sharp & Didsy are heroes but Sharp is pension-age & Didsy can't hit a cow's arse with a banjo.
Moose's biscuit legs have been dunked in his cuppa.
McDaftie could possibly form a partnership with Jebbo if both were played in / coached into their proper roles.
Brewster's Millions is such a HUGE embarrassment for the Club , that if I were the Prince , I would have a fatwa out on Klopp.

I think he has a game plan it was hinted at we just know a) its going to take time and b) we dont know what it is yet :)

Still laugh at those comments pre-season saying McB and Brewster will get 20+ goals.
