Looks like yet another Wilder Out thread with the same old discussion. People who want him out need to explain how his sacking could realistically improve the team.

If our remit is to finish outside the relegation places this season we're probably going to lose more than we win. We could lose today and finish 18th.

Sacking Wilder and getting someone else in isn't going to solve anything this season. Even with Pep in charge we wouldn't go up.

We've said it countless times, but we aren't going to sack Wilder no matter how many whining posts a minority put on a forum. The money isn't there.

If we can't afford to open the BLUT, we definitely can't afford to pay off Wilder and his staff and get someone like Cooper, Corboran or Challinor in - and then bring in the players they want. It isn't going to happen.

If anyone has a plan for a) finding the money to sack CW and his staff and b) can name a better replacement we can afford to bring in, please enlighten us.

It feels like some people can’t wait for us to lose. Even some bizarre comments of if we win but don’t play brilliantly he should be sacked. When did we become so entitled?

It’s a transition season. We have just completed the transfer window. You don’t sack a manager immediately after a transfer window when he’s brought in all his own players and then give another manager the poisoned chalice of trying to get results with a bunch of players who aren’t his.

Remember 12 months ago?

If you’re going to the game, enjoy it, cheer the lads from minute one til the end, and hopefully we’ll get the result. You know, like we always used to.
Not based on this year it’s the last three
Yes it includes the 90 point season or 92
It’s the football the structure the plan the project
We almost got away with it that season only due to having better players
The football followed the same pattern of last and this season, and even then players blowing out of their arsenal.
These last two season the same rubbish with worse players each season = all steady decline
As many have said if we could see we are developing something medium term with a positive identity then we wouldn’t be so mardy and as you put it entitled

I want to be entertained.

At the moment it’s about as entertaining as sitting through ITV4 at your nan’s nursing home.

I want fast attacking football, Wilder can do that, but for some reason is playing it conservative in his approach. There’s fuck all pressure compared to the last two years. It’s the right time to bed in some of the kids, unearth some gem’s, hungry young lads.

Instead, we’re going for hasbeens, who couldn’t give a fuck about anything but their pension.

Yes but don’t forget 7 players have been on international duty in the break for international matches so we haven’t had them preparing for the game. No-one could have foreseen that.
Let’s just get to Halloween, Bonfire Night , Christmas, New Years Day , Burns Night , Valentines Day , Easter , B56s Birthday ,

Wilder doesn’t believe in signing fast creative players
Old, slow, sideways and backwards exactly the same type player.

Would not surprise me if Bettis & co have not already sounded out Hecky to return!!!! It’s the Blades Way!!! Nothing new just another comeback! Bradford fans up here I know thought he was a ‘shoe in’ to take their job…..maybe he got the heads up as he withdrew his interest in Bradford…..

No itk ….. I just would not be surprised if this happened.

Stop making rationale arguments. The wilder fan club only wants to hear reasoning that makes no-sense, it makes their position feel justified. So many times good reasoning is presented but still they chose to not understand it. They support wilder first and put the club second. Stuck in a place where they are terrified of change incase it brings the same damage as what wilder is causing anyway.

It’s really not rocket science to understand. But for some i can understand why they get so easily confused.

Loose today he doesn't get sacked but failure to to get at least a win in the two away games and then the next two home games become very interesting.I just want my team to show good football and win more than Loose regardless of who the manager is but poor results in the next 5 games he will be gone after the Wrexham game imo it won't just be Wilder who gets the abuse but Bettis and the Yanks.

I don't think it's sackable at the moment, and neither should it be.
However, he's been a full year now, that being a winter and a summer transfer window. So, a reasonable time to make a fair few changes to the Selles period.
Also, in terms of finance, there's only 4 clubs in the league who have any parachute payments. So, we are on a level playing field with the vast majority.
So, starting to run out of reasons for underperforming.
We were always going to use the lack of parachute payments as an excuse to be shite. So far this season we’ve played only one game against a parachute team, yet lo and behold we’ve been dog shit in all of em…Bizarre that.

To be honest, I just hope we get to see some of our injured players coming back and a really good, loud rendition of Starman.

Its just going to be one of those seasons. Unless things get really messy, Wilder wont be going anywhere.

Enjoy the small things Blades, we arent wednesday and we have new loos

Any which way but loose.

20 teams in the league are working on our budget. This is championship football on championship money. Should be CW bread and butter environment.
Tbh I think the £20m raised which we needed to do not to break any rules didnt make us level playing field as such. We raised the minimum amount to not be in breach, so we had no budget to play with.

To be on level "playing field" regards to budget what we could spend we would have had to raise more the £30m-£35m in sales so we could then use £10m as a budget and still be under the threshold of the rules.

*probably not the exact numbers or so but you get my drift. Could be more could be less.

spot on the lane crowd wont stand for much more of the dross weve been playing wilder has gone too far down the over 30's.route like you i would like to see 2 or 3 of the young uns given a chance but at least put some pace and attacking intent in to our play

Yeah the £20m gets us to a point where we have to be financially.
So, after that, the ins and outs have to be equal cost, self funding.
In some ways that also says the decision has been made it's better to keep what we've got than trade them for other players. That seems more difficult to point the finger outwards.

Wilder has to get his tactics and player selections spot on today and the players HAVE to put on a performance.

A defeat, or one of those lucky wins against the run of play, and I suspect everything turns and it’s the end for Wilder.

Strong rumours he was going to be sacked in the international break, surely he wouldn’t be able to survive another non performance against Lincoln today?
Wasn't it just one person who said that ?
Then the utubers got hold of it because it gave them something to talk about, all about clicks/money

I agree with all your post. However, the objective now is surely to stay up, not go up.

Not sure the club (owners) can afford to sack Wilder? Not that I’m advocating a change of manager (well not yet)

Watched Wrst Ham v QPR last night. QPR played attacking, attractive football. No big time Charlie's, no over the hill players
Quite a few youngsters in their team. The commentator said they had quite a few injuries as well. Proves what can be done if you have the right tactics. Sorry Chris the football is dire at the moment. It is not worth watching.

Why can’t the club afford to sack the manager? We’ve been in far worse financial positions before and sacked managers. As have and do many other clubs.

Nothing will change from before the break. We might fluke a goal. There’s no way he’s getting sacked unless we’re adrift in the relegation zone. Even then they probably won’t bother because they can say their giving the fans what they wanted.

After the international break, I want to see some planned patterns of movement other than sideways and backwards. I’m sure a lot of passes have been going astray because players aren’t sure where teammates are running.
(No shit, Sherlock etc…)

Say what you like about McCabe but he was willing to put his hand into his pocket and fork out in L1 when it was clear that the wrong choice had been made or the manager couldn't take us further.

Not privy to contact details but they normally have success or failure clauses. It's cheaper to sack managers that don't meet the targets they are set.

When we sacked Robson Warnock and Blackwell we were a parachute club. Relegation under Adams will have made it easier to sack him afterwards.

In L1 we were expecting promotion, and the fact they they didn't achieved it probably made it cheaper to sack managers who were charged with getting us up. I think only Weir was sacked mid-season, the rest after failure to achieve promotion. It will be a lot more expensive to sack a manager in October because we're not winning every game or playing like prime Barca.

Given that they have closed the BLUT to save money, and given what happened last time they sacked him, there's zero evidence that our owners are keen to take another expensive gamble.

If our target is simply to stay up, we have no alternative but to keep Wilder and take stock in the summer.

Even if we're in a relegation struggle you could argue that he's probably still the best man for the job. He's never suffered an EFL relegation. I could be wrong but I don't think he's ever had a bottom-half finish in the EFL.

No strong rumours, other than 2 idiots on a podcast doing click bait rubbish.
