Ahh but our own itk guy has said Wilder to West Brom is dead in the water and its straight from the horses mouth too!

As far as I'm aware Chris spoke quite lengthy with the LMA about it his exit. He could have potentially taken some form of action after that interview.
It's also why his statement came via LMA too.

Reason he hasn't. I think because he wants to move on and draw a line under it. He doesn't want to further disrupt the situation at what is still his club/our club.
Also he never wanted to go to Sunderland or west brom whilst here. Only speculation. He did think about resigning when the prince and McCabe fell out though as he thought the club was in a mess until both parties assured him.

For the record I can't personally dispute the princes interview. But this doesn't mean we have to believe it all at face value. I do know that they had been disagreeing on things for a while, which is why I question in the interview why the prince was surprised he tried to resign a few times. Wilder didn't want to leave but both parties couldn't see a way forward. It was a mutual termination.

This all said we need to move on. We have a new manager and I think on paper best we could have got at the minute.
But let's not trash talk a manager who actually did really well for us until this season. And let's not get too giddy about the prince. Good first step I think with Slav. But this post wilder era draws more scrutiny on the owner.

The biggest disappointment wasn’t his inability to evolve, it’s that he didn’t even try! It was rabbit in the headlights stuff. He just kept picking the same team and tactics in the hope that things will improve.

I thought he’d at least go down with a fight rather than give up because Plan A failed.

Yet he has changed formation before during a match and played different formations at other clubs. I don’t quite get why he didn’t want to evolve. I don’t get why he didn’t mix it up once he knew JOC was out.

same here just couldnt understand why he didnt try something different quite baffling really when it obviously wasnt working would love to hear him say why he wouldnt change things round
 
It's extremely difficult to see anything other than wanting to make sure the blame lay 100% with the players for refusing to look at changing how we attack, continually picking Stevens who looked like a L2 player etc. "System worked last year, it's just this year the players are shit"

The season was embarrassing for him and he also hurt his employability with the way it ended. Fans don't pay wages or choose managers. If he was playing up he was doing it for the wrong crowd.

The alternative is the whole thing was a bit of a fluke which seems extremely unlikely
 
We played 3-5-2, 3-4-1-2, 3-4-3 and 4-4-2 at some point under Wilder last season. It's a bit of a myth that he didn't try different things.

I just think that he, Knill and even the board (Prince said he was happy with the performances if not the results) thought that we weren't too far away from last year (1-0 wins becoming 1-0 defeats, fine margins etc) and that it would turn around.

He only changed formation once Utd had conceded and where chasing the game. In how many games did he start with anything other that 3-5-2?

If they thought some of the performances were good enough then that's a good reason for him not still being our manager. It's ok losing by the odd goal and using 'fine margins' as an excuse but the reason it happened is that we were shit and teams got a goal up and knew they could just hold us at arms length and win at a canter.

In Summer 2018 he was very close to joining Sunderland according to someone very close to him.

Exactly this. It was part of the "keep it tight, stay in touch, stay in the game" mentality. Man city the obvious example, where the tactical change in the 80th ish minute completely transformed us far too late.

There's nothing wrong with being "tapped up" by other clubs and leveraging that to make more money for yourself. Sometimes your employer's begin to take your value for granted and you need to offer them a timely reminder. I've had to do it myself in my career on a couple of occasions.

I also don't think there was anything wrong with him offering his resignation. We were on a horrible spell & he looked a beaten man with no escape plan. He probably thought it was the best thing for himself, his family & the club.

The bloke's clearly a massive Blade & the way things ended will be hurting him more than anyone.

I personally don’t or didn’t expect him to join anybody, the chairman backed him to the hilt and said he’d be manager next year no matter what happened this season from his point of view which I fully admired, hence I’d have expected Wilder to ride it out, come back fresh headed, with new ideas and still be managing us this season.

Regardless of this seasons terribleness, Wilder could’ve created a great legacy here, now he will not be remembered fondly for the bottle job way he left his and our great club. SJ needs our backing now, see if he can rescue the shit situation Wilder has left us in, the confidence will be lower than a set of grandmas breast so it will not be an easy job.

I think he'd managed to talk himself into believing that starting with anything other than 3-5-2 would lead to us getting battered every game

Games that we generally ended up losing anyway, doesn't matter if we lose 1-0 or 5-0 every game if we never pick up any points. Goal difference was a moot point this season, we lost far too many games for it to be a factor.

You know what they say about the definition of insanity; Week in week out, no change.

Truth is, neither of us know Chris so fact is we’ll never know.

All I know is, this season has left a sour taste and made me think a lot more about things I just brushed under the carpet regards CW previously. As in the weird comment about lefties earlier last season.

I think the way it’s all unravelled is really sad and no doubt he’ll be as gutted as us, but that will be about his career and pocket more than us in my opinion at least. But I’m not claiming to be right there, just a gut feeling from his past actions.

And yet we paid him. Maybe we should ask for a few million quid from PA seen as he's obviously handing it out for absolutely no reason.
