No it isn’t. Jack Robinson is currently in our first choice defence and we’re gonna be playing in the Prem next season.Think its a lazy link for coady to be honest. Although they've all been crocked for most of the season, cb is where we have some particular strength at the moment
A pay cut even though we've gone up, or is this designed that they'll turn it down!?I read interviews with Mcburnie (when he signed for Barnsley) & Mcatee about how Hecky convinced them to sign for us because the amount of research/ presentation he'd carried out on how they'd fit into the formation/ team.
These presentations are going to have to be better than ever this season!so convincing they're willing to take a pay-cut.
That would be understandable re Coady interest if it wasn't for the fact that Coady won't likely be playing LCB and I'm not so sure Egan will offer enough mobility on the LCB either so we need another for the competition for LCB in my view.No it isn’t. JLT had a good season, he wasn’t ‘immense’ as way too many people have claimed.
Anel and Egan have earned the right to be in the first team, JLT has earned the right to be in the squad for the start of a premier league season and nothing more.
Our set up provides a lot of protection for our defence, add that to the fact that we had more talented footballers and attackers than the opposition and people should be very cautious in overly praising our defence.
Baldock, Anel and to a lesser extent Egan are the standard. Lowe needs to leave and JLT is very borderline for next season.
New players we’re attempting to convince to join us. No doubt they’ll be able to get more money elsewhereA

AyeYeah - I’ve no idea why they are all whoring themselves round gulf states for petrodollars either.
They couldn’t physically spent the money they already have in a thousand lifetimes. So I’ve no idea why they would degrade themselves like that.
But each to their own. I see why you’d chose money early in your career but after a certain point and a certain level of wealth it really doesn’t matter when the difference between earning 200k a week and 2million is basically indistinguishable.
I'd be thrilled if my possibly new employee showed 10 page PowerPoint slideshow about how I would fit in the team.I read interviews with Mcburnie (when he signed for Barnsley) & Mcatee about how Hecky convinced them to sign for us because the amount of research/ presentation he'd carried out on how they'd fit into the formation/ team.

well were not going to buy a good striker on our alleged budget so has to be a loan who would you suggest thenWhen I say a striker, I mean a good one, not just someone who played well against us once last season
So effectively he’s on £16500 a week, £858,000 a year. Gerrim bought!![]()

Very unlikely that Everton would not pay him more than he was on at Wolves, certainly not that much more.![]()

AyeIf we are looking at bringing CC in on a permanent basis then I hope we are striving for a hard bargain with Wolverhampton.
They seemingly want his wages off the books as he doesn't fit in with their four at the back formation, but he does with our three at the back. We should be looking for a lesser fee up front than the £4.5m option that Everton agreed last season as he is a year older.
Apparently he has two years left on a lucrative contract so I can see the merit on doing this as a loan rather than a permanent. But I wouldn't discount the latter if the finances make sense. For starters, I would be asking Wolves to come to some sort of financial agreement with CC for a year of his contract whilst United could agree to pick up the money owed for the last year on his current deal. We then agree with the lad/agent what he wants per week and what we can realistically afford and offer him say a 3 year deal which would be the money from his last year at Wolves plus the wages we agree for years 2 and 3 divisible by the 3 years of the contract that we are offering. So x (last year of Wolves contract), plus y2 plus y3 divided by 3 = yearly wage over his 3 year contract with us. Alternatively I suppose we could offer him a lump sum payment for his last year contract with Wolves and give him a lower wage throughout his contract. It would remain to be seen whether he would agree to a wage reduction if we are relegated though. So in all probability I would see a loan being the way to go with this one but I wouldn't discount a permanent deal depending on what finances are involved.
Given the budget and priorities issued to PH by the Prince, we may have to start with JLT and Lowe. RND to return soon and he can play both LCB and LWB once he is match fit.No it isn’t. Jack Robinson is currently in our first choice defence and we’re gonna be playing in the Prem next season.

I don’t know the answer so it’s a genuine question. but when was the last time he’s played defensive midfield?
Feels like about a decade ago in league 1 for us / maybe the championship for Huddersfield. If we’re buying a defensive midfielder I’d prefer us to get a specialist rather than hope a 30+ year old can remember how to do it.

It can work like that but it can also work if the agent smells a move he can push for it providing the player is interestedAye

“Hello Wulvramtonwanururs”
“Good afternoon, Sheffield United here to undertake a “hard bargain” regarding your unwanted centre back”
“Fuck off he’s not that unwanted, we’ll flog him to someone that makes a realistic / serious bid, goodbye”

I agree. If Basham is not part of your preferred squad (?) then are you suggesting that we need a quality LCB and a good RCB as cover ? If Lowe goes are you looking at a LWB to challenge or be in front of RND ?No it isn’t. Jack Robinson is currently in our first choice defence and we’re gonna be playing in the Prem next season.

Kasper Lopata has just signed for Barnsley ......who is on the move away from Barnsley.Andersen from Barnsley............if Coady gone to Forest.

Good point, I see that now.I think the poster is a Forest fan and the lazy link they were referring to was about them.
Agree with your assessment of our centre backs we desperately need a new LCB to replace JOC. A centre half not a converted full back who can read the game and track runners as well as being aerially dominant and able to get forward with the ball. Priority signing for me. The Florist fan was saying its not a priority for them not us.No it isn’t. Jack Robinson is currently in our first choice defence and we’re gonna be playing in the Prem next season.

We are surely going to sign at least one quality defender, even within the given parametersGiven the budget and priorities issued to PH by the Prince, we may have to start with JLT and Lowe. RND to return soon and he can play both LCB and LWB once he is match fit.
I don’t question your assessment of the positions, just that we, and Hecky might have no choice.
John Stones was only 19 and playing in the Championship when Everton took a punt on him.Anderson was playing L1 last season and marking useless lumps like Smith and Paterson - they are a world away from Prem level. Maybe he could step-up but I would have thought a move to a Champ club next season would be more likely. He isn't too mobile which isn't necessarily the end of the world but it won't help him against the pace and movement of Prem strikers.
It would certainly be a big risk is he was chosen as the upgrade on Robinson.
