Freeman looked keen last night ,agree with WallaceK ,everything looked like it was a burden ,including when he was one the pitch. Reed looked like a little boy lost.

Agreed he looked keener last night but if he's no respect for the staff it's time to say tarar !

He reminds me of Baxter ,thick as fuck with a massive ego ,totally in love with himself. Actually that goes for about 90% of players , Adams and McNulty probably come under the same umbrella ,the 'Do you know who I am' one.

Freeman always looks keen, but he's obviously a cunt. Get rid ASAP.

Freeman's attitude stunk. Taking the piss out of our warm up coach when told to get ready for warm up. K Wallace not much better.

Playing a bit of devil's advocate here but it seems a bit harsh to judge them on one conversation. What did he do to 'take the piss'?

I get on really well with my boss but take the piss out of her constantly - especially when she tries to get me to do some work.

Birmingham offering 2 million Blades turned it down

Not doubting your post, but if that's correct it's good to know that Wilder rates Adams' value (in this current market) above this figure. Be interesting to know what that figure is, but if Adams is sold for above £2 million then (and this is all a theoretical exercise of course) it might suggest that the acquisition of at least two more players is possible.....or am I being naive in the hope that the thing that should matter most to this club, the first team, isn't the priority I imagined it to be?

I think we are rating Che at 2 million, and it hasn't been offered, more likely offered 1 million

"The Star claims Sheffield United want £2m for the youngster, and Blues could be in a position to offer cash plus a player to get closer to that valuation.

Adams missed their friendly against FC Halifax Town following the bid with their manager Chris Wilder saying: "“Che travelled with us but I didn’t think it was right to play him in the game.”"

The news all over is that it's Birmingham that has bid, and it was only £1m not the £2m that seemed to be banded about

BIRMINGHAM'S ADAMS BID REJECTED

Sheffield United have turned down a £1m bid from Birmingham Cityfor their young striker Che Adams.

Sky Sports News HQ understands the offer falls some way short of their valuation for the 20-year old.

Last week, Huddersfield Town bid around £700K. Wigan are also known to be interested.

United signed the player on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee from non-league Ilkeston back in November 2014.

They obviously all know what kind of market we're operating in....

I hope we told them all to fuck off. Not a penny less than the two million and even then thats too low.

Well, apparently we've set our stall out at £2million...(too cheap already!?!?!?) so we're not likely to get more than that now unless some daft Prem club comes in for a punt...( or Newcastle maybe...)

Does look like Che is the sacrificial lamb to our 'running cost's' this year...

Given the current inflated state of the market where even mediocrity comes at a premium (doesn't it Mr Chansiri) then it could be said it is too cheap.

As for Che being sold for running costs, well it looks like a Duck, and it walks like a duck...............as the saying goes.

All good except last sentence. He signed a contract extension last season or else according to that, he'd by out of contract now and go where he wants and for nowt

Well, apparently we will sell one our (few) best players! FULL STOP!

Some on here think it's a good deal if we get 2mill, the club obviously think it's would be a good deal to set to sell at 2mill, same as it was a good deal when we gave away the two Kyles for 8mill, and relegation followed - just can't believe the mentality of this club of mine, don't we ever learn?

Last nights performance (Halfax) was poor, so let's sell our best players, don't think I can take another season like last season :#

At the end of the day we're just supporters, it isn't our club its the major shareholders.

We have a manager who is responsible for a budget and he liaises with the board about players coming in and going out. If Wilder thinks he'd rather have £2m than Che Adams then that's the way it is. Somtimes a bid comes in that you cant refuse, if that's what he's worth I'd rather us hold out for more, but if it unsettles the player and he wants to go, you're perhaps better of accepting that bid.

I'll blindly follow the Blades, whether we sell our best players or not, in hope that one day we'll get a manager capable of steering us in the right direction and allowing us to keep our best players. In this league there will always be bigger or more succesful clubs with money to spend, we have no control over that.

He may be one of our best players but he's still not that good. £2m ? I'd snatch their hands off.

Took the mickey out of his request and questioned at what point they should warm up. Said it was too early to do so. Not the attitude needed. His general approach and lack of enthusiasm shone through. Typified a guy on the list unwilling to get that changed. The contrast with Duffy was stark.
His example to the other players, and also sat v close to fans, is out of order.
Just my opinion but as we know this can spread in a squad and any like that should be gone asap in my book !

I'm not sure in isolation. I don't mind players who are strong enough to question things and show a bit of gumption, provided it is done in the right way of course. However..

allayed to that I'd agree. I was not fully disagreeing with you but just saying it may be a bit harsh to judge someone's character based on one conversation at a pre season friendly.

No, I appreciate your context. Just thought I'd elaborate slightly. I was impressed at his ability to cover lb and rb initially and he'd be useful if he regained those levels but believe his motivation is questionable which is not needed.

And Clough said he always prioritised a player's character before signing him. He even worked with Freeman previously FFS. Then to add insult to injury he gave him a good contract.

Thanks again, FLN.

It's fair enough being pissed off at best players being sold but it's important you don't go too far with it.

If there's clubs coming in with bids miles over the players current worth (e.g bids of circa £2m, when his current worth is roughly £500-600k), it'd be stupid to turn down as it'd be a real waste of an opportunity to utilise that money to improve the squad.

That is assuming the money were to be reinvested on fees and free transfer wages and not just swallowed up on current wages to allow the owners to put less money in. I'd be against any sale if they're just going to do the latter again, if that's the case we might as well wait and see how he develops.

Of course, the club will have other ideas, and then they'll wonder why we haven't gone up again come May 2017.
