I got talking to a bloke recently who said his daughter was good mates with RND. Apparently his achilles tendon detached, which looking online can be 8-10 months out for a professional athlete so that may add up with his comments.
Shit. In that case we can't count on him being up to it next season, or maybe ever, at PL level, and signing a LCB is a must if it wasn't already

For a player of RND's physicality this is a monumental blow

Spinazzola, the Roma and Italy LWB, missed the best part of a year with an achilles injury and has clearly lost a fair bit of the speed and agility that made him stand out. I fear it will be similar with RND - if this is correct of course

I'm in the cringeworthy camp as well on his little stunt last night.

Be good at football first and try to win fans over that way, being a comedy cheerleader is not a good look.

I reckon he fancies himself as an MC. Fingers crossed we do a cup run next year and resurrect the tradition of the finalists releasing a song

I really like him. I think the team dynamic is a lot different to the one that went up last time. 4/5 of the lads are practicing Muslims, the average age is significantly lower and the academy kids are a lot closer to what's going off. Arblaster, Brooks etc. were all around the celebrations yesterday.

It's like we're slowly becoming a more younger, leaner, athletic squad.

I knows he’s very well remunerated, but can’t be easy for him - only 17 appearances this year.

He’s well liked by staff and players, really hope he gets fit and firing. When you think of the crap we’ve had, particularly in the bad times between the Warnock and Wilder years, players who absolutely dialed it in and couldn’t give a toss, he’s clearly cut from a completely different cloth. I really like him and still think he has huge potential.

Big Goo On Rhian from me. Go and smash pre-season lad.
If we can get him fit and ready he’d almost be like a new signing.

Spot on . Obviously well respected in the England U21 set up . IF we can get him fit , I still feel we could have a real player on our hands .

I fear for Brewster if he’s not, he needs to hit the ground running or his career could fizzle out. He’s starting to be on borrowed time unfortunately
Hitting the ground running is his problem, unfortunately… Joking apart, it must be terrible for a lad like him to be coping with the injuries he has had. He is within touching distance of achieving his dream, his involvement with the squad is probably keeping him going.

That old chestnut.

When we signed him he came off the back of a good season in the championship, and proved himself unable to cut it at his age at premier league level in a struggling team.

This time he comes off the back of three not very productive and injury hit seasons, I see nothing there to say he's going to start scoring for us in the prem. i'd send him out on loan to a championship club for the first half of the seasons to prove himself.

My issue is how average he looks when he does play, maybe its our system that causes it. Maybe the prem will help. Clutching at straws a little bit

I think there is a very good player in there IMO if he can get over his injuries

If it was upto me I would get him a contract extension loan him for a year to the eredevise or Ligue 1 what Brewster needs is a season where he can score goals he won’t get that with us next year

Look at balogun who flopped @ Boro and is now one of the top scorers in France

Yeah because he should play through his injuries and completely hide his personality from anyone until he has done so...

It's the people that are criticising a young lad that has had major injury issues, but is massively respected in the squad that comes out of it looking bad.

I have to say I don’t know the bloke, but we only spoke for 5 minutes or so about United and it would be a very odd thing to make up.

Me too.

Lads been through a lot injury wise and I hope he comes good.

But that last night, not for me. It’s celebrating our promotion, didn’t need to even mention that lot.

You’ll win us over by getting yourself right and doing it on the pitch lad, not by being a modern day John Ebbrell

At a celebration of our promotion I'm not sure why one of our players has to make a show of himself and mention the pigs, they were irrelevant to last night.

I don't think he should play through injury, he should just play better when he's not injured.

I did say “if” we can get him fit and ready. Given how unlikely it is we’re going go ballistic in the transfer market, I’d rather we give him a chance with us to put the last few years behind him first. If we can perform a McBurnie style resurrection, it would be a very welcome bonus.

I’m divided. On the one hand I completely agree with your points here. On the other, the child in me is still giggling.

Brewster has been a big disappointment before injury and he was given many opportunities but didn’t or couldn’t take them. Liverpool had our pants down IMHO I don’t think he’s good enough for the prem, send him out on loan best thing for him and us

I do get what you mean, I get why opinion would be divided.

But the best way to shithouse them in my view is carry on as we are. The gap has been as it is for a few years, it’s gonna be like it for a few more. That’s how you keep them in their place, by simply being better, which we are in every way you can measure and a few that you can’t

All for him getting involved, I'm just criticising him for grabbing the mic at a family event and getting the crowd to shout "shit". Have some standards.

The problem we have with Brewster is that it's both difficult for us to have him in the squad for the Premier League but may not be able to bring enough bodies in to loan him out. 6 month Championship loan would give him the opportunity to prove his fitness playing regularly/get some form.

Some people never miss an opportunity to have a pop at some of our players , they seem to enjoy it as well!
Not having a pop and not enjoying it mate. Just my opinion, doesn’t make me right or wrong

Loaning him out might well be good for his development, but I fear that with our most likely constrained transfer budget for next season, we need him to play a part if he’s fit. If not, it’s academic anyway as he won’t be playing anywhere.
