Brewster will probably have liked the instagram post whilst sat on a physio table somewhere in Derby.

What can they say really?

There’s about 2 of them that can hold their heads up i high and be proud of what they have shown this season.

Selles was incapable of adapting to the personnel he had, but equally they were all capable of better than they showed.

I suspect it’s a mix of tactics, interpersonal and shock that apparently the owners considered the 92 points they collectively acquired as inadequate and NGE.

I suspect there was a lot of unhappiness in the players with the owners' decision to sack Wilder. That resulted in them not performing for Selles once he came in. Selles needed to be an outstanding manager to dig out of that. Having a go at them on the pitch after the first game loss showed he isn't an outstanding manager. There's no way he could recover from that, even if he didn't change the system. Changing the system too meant no one was going to buy into it and it wouldn't work.
Wilder coming back in is the best thing that could happen now. It shows that the owners are able to fix a mistake. Importantly, the remaining members of last season's team will be enthused and motivated straight away, and Wilder will slot straight back in without having to learn about the club. I expect the team will put in a good shift on Saturday, especially when they hear the crowd cheer at Wilder's return. Their tails will be up and we'll see more of what we saw last season, effort!
