Bolton boycott

It'll make thirty quid of difference to my bank balance, if that's all it achieves, so be it.

Well not really......if tickets were £20.00 (or even £24?) you would be going and this thread would never have started, so in real terms you are saving £8 max, which over the season going to all the other away games, assuming the same ticket costs as last season in this league and that as usual you will be going,, equates to approx £0.35 per game - not really worth a call for boycotting over!

However, whilst I believe that the argument for boycotting this match is way OTT as Bolton are the ONLY club in this league that will charge these ticket prices, if other clubs decide to try it on with higher prices and it becomes a regular thing every other week, then fine it becomes a real affordability problem for those that usually go to every game and something needs to be done, but that isn't the case right now - it's just one game that is more expensive than it should be.

In the meantime, to prevent increased prices becoming the norm in the future (although I would expect to pay more in a higher league), lake 20 is plenty banners to games, home and away, and also campaign rigorously to whoever holds sway in these things - the FA, Football League, anyone who can make a difference, because I doubt very much that a couple of hundred fans not going to this game will make any difference whatsoever.

It is when you take offence on behalf of other people and when the discussion is about the price of tickets you don't buy and have no intention of doing so ;)
How do you know whether I'm going to purchase a season ticket for next season?

If you were previously planning on going to Bolton but are now definitely not travelling, please sign below and we'll keep a running total of "missing" income for them.

I, for one, am not going.

I can make a lot of noise and complain, for the sum total of fuck all. Or I can keep my money in my pocket and hit them where it actually hurts. If enough people to it, they will take notice... eventually.

I love my club and have followed them from Carlisle to Plymouth. But that love for my club does not mean I have endless cash to line the pockets of footballers and the Football League.

The Football League sells itself throughout the world on its fantastic support at lower league levels. If they allow this level of pricing in the third division, they are complicit in the slow death of the game we all love.

So 1: £30
Put me and my grandson on that list mate

No secrecy. Not sure yet.

I do think this season you need to be sure before you buy a season ticket. If after a dozen games of next season you decide the results aren't worthy of your prolonged patronage of the Lane then it might save you a lot of time and hassle selling your season ticket again, not to mention saving yourself a few quid from the loss on it.

Well thank fuck for that.....I could have sworn the specific question related the the getting of a season ticket and not general spending of money.
Yes...same thing. I don't know whether I'm going to buy a ST or not, Linz certainly doesn't.

Got my ST after the discount ran out. Just ordered my banner......"£342 is plenty!"

Maybe we can lend the Bolton fans our "Twenty Is Plenty" banner when they come down here?

If they don't have their own yeah, we're already likely to be facilitating communication between them and the relevant people should the pricing be unreasonable.

"Not arguing semantics" - otherwise known as "I can't answer your point".

Or a complete waste of time as you a debating an opinion as to the connotations of a term which has already been stated had different intentions to your interpretation.

Suppose 30 pages of the same back and forth `that's not what I meant', 'that is what you meant' would really add to the discussion though.

Back on topic... I'm going, I really begrudge paying that figure (the principle more than the difference to other tickets), but will be taking up the argument with Bolton. As I will with Sheffield United when they do the same.

I know a number of regular and non regular Blades not going due to a refusal to pay the ticket price but wouldn't dream of telling them to stop whinging or to 'get behind the team'... They are right.
