Bolton boycott

Or a complete waste of time as you a debating an opinion as to the connotations of a term which has already been stated had different intentions to your interpretation.

Suppose 30 pages of the same back and forth `that's not what I meant', 'that is what you meant' would really add to the discussion though.

Back on topic... I'm going, I really begrudge paying that figure (the principle more than the difference to other tickets), but will be taking up the argument with Bolton. As I will with Sheffield United when they do the same.

I know a number of regular and non regular Blades not going due to a refusal to pay the ticket price but wouldn't dream of telling them to stop whinging or to 'get behind the team'... They are right.
Just as a matter of fact I haven't told anyone to stop whinging or to get behind the team. I agree the prices are stupid. I took issue with a post, which wasn't to do with me interpreting anything wrongly as I explained.

I haven't suggested that you have.

I used to love SOAP it was so funny.

Do you remember that Mary Campbell believed aliens were on Earth?

She became pregnant and when the new born arrived she told somebody there was a problem with it?

She said, "It's silver!" :D ROFLMAO
I remember watching one episode where a baby was involved in some kind of Damien the omen type scenario
It's still to this day the most scared I've ever been
Bet it looks bloody ridiculous to watch now

£30
Football.
League One.

Pay that.

Mugs.

I've been absolutely fucking coining in the overtime this summer especially since they've offered me treble time to work from home on a weekend :-) thus doubled my wages over summer - and we've been told today overtime is on for the foreseeable future - anyway the point I'm trying to make is I have enough disposable to begrudgingly pay 30 and I'm going to get absolutely fucking spannered and have a great day on the ale with brownie

If that makes me a mug then so be it

Scab. :)

Yes. Benson was the original butler. The spin off had him going to work for a governor of somewhere with a housekeeper called Mrs Krauss and a bloke who was later unrecognisable in Star Trek TNG.

How often do you leave the house BB?

Treble time. I'll get you booked in for Millwall as well.

Oh I can't possibly go now because some forum warrior thinks I'm a Mug :(

£30
Football
League One
Great day out with my mates for a few beers and banter

Paying that

One happy mug
OK the question must be 'What price would you pay' to watch League One football? £50? £75? £100? More?

It was said anyone that goes is a day-tripper, but it was later discovered that wasn't the intention...obviously.

Not what was said.

Don't be offended on my behalf either, as I'm going and didn't feel like I was being labelled ;)

Well first of all the notion of paying £50/£75/£100 or more for League 1 football is entirely irrelevant and OTT as it just isn't the case and won't be for the foreseeable future. As I have said before, the most expensive ticket this season will be for this match - £28/£30, and my personal circumstances allow me to be happy to pay this. Would I have paid more? Very possibly yes, although only if the mates I go with were still happy to go. For me going to games isn't just about watching the Blades, it's also about having a good day out with a few beers and a laugh.

I personally feel that the calls for fans to boycott this match are a little over the top, mainly for the reason above that this price is a one off price for the season and if Bolton were charging £25 for tickets, I doubt that this thread would have started and most who say they are boycotting would be going. So assuming that all other ticket prices remain the same level as last season, by going to Bolton it's probably costing £5 per head more than usual over the season. It has also been said on here that people are happy to travel to the likes of Gillingham, Bristol, Southend etc and pay £20 for tickets but treble the travel costs as going to Bolton.

I do accept though that if £25 to £30 becomes the norm for tickets then at this level it is taking the piss and then I would back anyone not wanting to pay that. Petitions and protests to the relevant bodies are the way to prevent this but I don't believe that a few hundred regulars boycotting this match will make any difference to the Bolton Board.

i went down this morning and got some for 4 of us. Surprised there was a queue. I was waiting till they went general sale as mates not members/enough points. I think £30 for a game of League One football is ridiculous but wanted to be there opening day and more than that fancied a day on the piss in Manc with mates.

So my report will be up Sunday morning not Saturday night.

Sounds a bit of a bugger getting after getting to Bolton train station there as replacement buses from Bolton to Horwich (only 3 an hour and will be crammed I expect). May just hop in a cab at Bolton I think.

I'm in a very similar boat. It's my mate's birthday and this is what he wanted to do for it, despite the ridiculous ticket price. If it wasn't his birthday I absolutely wouldn't be going. He has a 2 year-old with another on the way, so days like these are soon to be few and far between for him.

We also want to jump in a cab. Problem is that a few hundred others will have the same idea! Can see us getting there very early and grabbing some tinnies from the Asda next door to avoid the mad rush.

How do you know whether I'm going to purchase a season ticket for next season?

'whether I'm going to purchase a season ticket ' going to would appear to mean you havnt bought one yet. Which further suggests you wont be buying one either.
